Some perspective

I know there’s some concern right now around recruiting. What was supposed to be a strong suit (recruiting) hasn’t delivered much so far.

A little perspective that we should consider. I’ve had 4 conversations in the last week with different people. Parents of a High level prospect, successful high school head coach, an AAU program director, and a kid who was in the portal.

To a person, separately, they all gave a very similar response, almost word for word, when I asked about UL. The summary was, we love UL, and we really like/live KP, but we’d like to see him coach some games as the lead guy before we feel 100% comfortable about going there. If we could fast forward a year and he’s shown the ability to be successful on the court, it’d be a different conversation about recruiting.

Can’t help but think a lot of these guys we’re recruiting might not be hesitant for that reason alone. We’re probably going to have to temper expectations for 22 class. And hope this season is successful to finish out the 23 group.
