A beautiful day, weather-wise (unless you're suffering from tree pollen allergies like me) out at Ulmer, but the Softball Cards fall to Wahoo 5-3. An early lead that they lost late amd a opportunity missed in the bottom of the seventh to pull off another come-from-behind "W".

Louisville was down 5-3 and attempted to rally in the seventh when Korbe Otis reached on a fielder’s choice, Taylor Roby was hit by a pitch and an error allowed Kendall Smith to reach, loading the bases with two outs, but Virginia reliever Mikayla Houge got a groundout to end the game and get the save.

Hannah File went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and Dylann Cravens went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored to help the Cardinals build a 3-1 lead after three innings, but Virginia scored four unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth innings to grab the lead and even the series at a game apiece. A nice starting performance in the circle for the Cards Taja Felder before she was lifted after four innings.

The Cards (25-21, 9-11 ACC) and the Cavaliers (27-22, 13-10) will meet in the third game of the series today at noon on the ACC Network Extra.
