Games, not innings. Bats can beat anyone. Pitching can lose to everyone. These guys can beat anyone if starters pitch like thishope it holds up for a couple more innings..
Not hard to see why his Coach talks about him so much.Great clutch hit by Alicea, having to bat left against a left handed pitcher because of his thumb injury.
His batting average is actually going up hitting lefty 100% of the time….
Snider. Those who regularly post in the bb threads know I detest many his decisions at third.Who is the third base coach?
Im just taking it one game at a time..Games, not innings. Bats can beat anyone. Pitching can lose to everyone. These guys can beat anyone if starters pitch like this
The way we limped into the tournament I would've bet everything I own against us winning this regional. I hope we can host and keep it rolling. One out left. Just have to say…What a Great performance by these guys!!! And…Cards win, Cards win!!!!
You weren't the only one but the way they performed down the stretch the criticism was warranted..I was all about crapping on the pitching staff but these guys were the stars of show, by far. Great job guys. GOCARDS!
Overall, the offense wasn’t totally clicking. Defense and pitching were the difference.I might be wrong but I think we had more unearned runs than earned in regonals?
I could be wrong but what I heard is that if neither 1 seeds win the Regional, then the Super Regional goes to a bidding process. I think based on our past history, we would have a good shot. I think it will be the first time I would be rooting for Miami... unless of course they were playing the kitties, who by the way are going home! Season over!Everybody root for Miami so we can host the Super Regional.
I believe you would be wrong! In almost every instance I have ever seen it goes to the higher seed. If it was a bidding process it would only be MIAMI & UL. And UL clearly is more deserving, and has hosted many Super Regional, the bidding you speak of would only be a formality!I could be wrong but what I heard is that if neither 1 seeds win the Regional, then the Super Regional goes to a bidding process. It looks like a leadership thing. If you watch him,he's constantly trying to keep these guys on point, focused and engaged about their craft.I do think the pitchers clearly trust Klein. It has shown before and after injury.
You captured that well PushUpMan! Sometimes leadership and chemistry can result in some amazing positive changes. I have no idea the inner-working of this clubhouse, but clearly Klein is a leader and I do not believe in coincidences.Incredible to think this, but apparently Klein makes that much of a difference. Just focusing on his offense: it was his solo home run in the game against Vandy that got us the lead. He was 4/12 in the regional, scoring 3 runs with 5 RBIs, 1 double and 2 HRs. 0.917 slugging percentage in those 3 games.
And incredibly he did all of that while hitting out of the 2nd spot in the lineup, where he has to sacrifice and/or take some pitches when Moore is on base in front of him -to let Moore have a chance to steal.
Then you add in that defensively he’s our best catcher, which means fewer passed balls and wild pitches and better framing of the pitch, helping to give our pitchers the best chance of getting those borderline strike calls.
He's a Sophomore, but point taken. It is amazing how important Klein is to this team and he is only a freshmen.
