Since no one else...Wr. St gm 3

Please accept my most humble apologies Roger Williams, Dan and the UL roster as a whole, as I had no expectation that you could perform like this, particularly the pitching staff.

The WSU team was a worthy opponent, and the 3-2 win at #1 Vandy took the starch out of the Dores; you could see it in their dugout!

Well I have to say I sure didn't expect this. Baseball can be such a fickle sport. Just when it looks like a team has no chance, they suddenly look like gangbusters.

This regional win should build loads of confidence for the Cards, especially after beating the overall #1 seed. However, it can change in an instant so the Cards need to remember that.

Making the World Series with this group would be a big achievement, so they might as well go and win it all. Imagine just how incredulous that would be with Cards fans. All those great teams with future MLB stars couldn't really get close, but this team?

Would be something that's for sure.

Go Cards!

Everybody root for Miami so we can host the Super Regional.
I could be wrong but what I heard is that if neither 1 seeds win the Regional, then the Super Regional goes to a bidding process. I think based on our past history, we would have a good shot. I think it will be the first time I would be rooting for Miami... unless of course they were playing the kitties, who by the way are going home! Season over!

I believe you would be wrong! In almost every instance I have ever seen it goes to the higher seed. If it was a bidding process it would only be MIAMI & UL. And UL clearly is more deserving, and has hosted many Super Regional, the bidding you speak of would only be a formality!

The regional script played out like we thought. Pitching was going to limit all the offenses. Zero double digits games. What was surprising was how good Louisville starters were. It was their best road performance of the year. Lights outs. The Vandy game was huge because it allowed them to avoid going deeper than in their pitching.

The top 8-9 guys in the rotation are really good when they throw strikes. If they have to go deeper than that then it gets rough.

The Super sets up nicely for this current rotation.

Truly amazing that our pitching staff was able to cool the heels of two of the hottest teams in the country. I don't think we're going to see all of the guys that struggled throughout the season in the postseason. Only if we can't get quality starts. In our perfect world of quality starts,it's gonna be a much more refined group like we just witnessed.
Sky's the limit, led by two USA collegiate national pitchers and a true Freshman.💪

Incredible to think this, but apparently Klein makes that much of a difference. Just focusing on his offense: it was his solo home run in the game against Vandy that got us the lead. He was 4/12 in the regional, scoring 3 runs with 5 RBIs, 1 double and 2 HRs. 0.917 slugging percentage in those 3 games.

And incredibly he did all of that while hitting out of the 2nd spot in the lineup, where he has to sacrifice and/or take some pitches when Moore is on base in front of him -to let Moore have a chance to steal.

Then you add in that defensively he’s our best catcher, which means fewer passed balls and wild pitches and better framing of the pitch, helping to give our pitchers the best chance of getting those borderline strike calls.

Read this and thought what are you talking about, because the last update I saw the Cats were up big?! But you of course are right … WVU scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th to knock the bat kittens out!

Pike and Davis really need to get going.
I like Pike in right field, but idk maybe Lippe gets a chance against lefties.
Davis, despite his 18 homers might have already been platooning with Earley except for the fact he might be one of the best defensive 1st basemen in the country. He's not going anywhere, but we need him to be that force at the plate.

You captured that well PushUpMan! Sometimes leadership and chemistry can result in some amazing positive changes. I have no idea the inner-working of this clubhouse, but clearly Klein is a leader and I do not believe in coincidences.

Klein’s a junior. Played 10 games in 2023 and 33 in 2024 . He’s had injuries in both 23 and this year. He’s going to be drafted this year and will have an interesting choice, would love to have him back for next year, but I doubt he returns.

I’d be surprised of Klein gets drafted very high - but who knows.
I want Pike in RF. Defensively he is very good and he has the best arm in the OF.
