So much for Macey being the best 3 point shooter in the country he was way off tonight. The thing that still stands out to me is how bad sUcK is at rebounding.

They really thght they were the nbr 1 team in the country . Really dnt know who is this year to be honest .

The Aces hit 38% from the field and 30% from the 3-point line.

I didn't see the game, did they break a sweat?

Why Aces?

"Aces" became Evansville College's nickname in the mid-20s thanks in large part to the University of Louisville basketball coach.

In the fourth game of the 1924-25 season, Evansville beat Louisville 59-39. After the game, Louisville's coach told Evansville coach John Harmon, "You didn't have four Aces up your sleeve, you had five!"

Harmon related the quote to Evansville Courier sports editor Dan Scism, and both Harmon and Scism decided they liked the sound of "Aces" better than "Pioneers," the Evansville College nickname at that time. Scism also had a selfish reason for promoting the use of "Aces." Those four letters fit into his headlines much easier than the longer "Pioneers."

The Evansville College colors were purple and white, and by 1926 "Purple Aces" became the unique nickname that is now well known all over the country.

Who is Ace Purple?

The credit for the University of Evansville mascot “Ace Purple” can be attributed to a basketball coach whose team was defeated by Evansville College in the mid 1920s.

After the game, the University of Louisville coach told Evansville coach John Harmon, "You didn't have four Aces up your sleeve, you had five!"

Harmon related the quote to Evansville Courier sports editor Dan Scism. Both Harmon and Scism decided they liked the sound of "Aces" better than "Pioneers," the Evansville College nickname at that time. In 1926, with popular support, the switch from “Pioneers” to “Aces” became official, but it wasn’t until the late 1960s that Ace Purple was fashioned by local sports cartoonist, Larry Hill.

Evansville looked like the better team tonight. They were the tougher team. UK totally disjointed on offense. Basically their offense is them trying to drive to the rack. They aren’t great in the post and they aren’t great shooting outside.

Me personally, I think Rick still had love in his heart for the blue necks. I believe he still cared about what they thought about his legacy while he was their head coach. To me that is why he always down played the game and seemed to me to dredd playing it in the first place. I think every year he came at it with that attitude and it rubbed off on the team. As they would be playing their asses off and then magically get thumped by 30 points. I am glad he is gone, I want the rivalry to go back to the days of Crum and Joe B Hall. We're we hated them and they hated us. Go Cards.

I flipped over when it was 17-17. Turned it off cuz I figured UK would win by 30, LMAO

Larry G basically just called it a good loss...
Probably was..I mean, Mac is a UK God, so he gets a huge bump for being a BBall genius...and, maybe some entitlement is dented for the 5 stars for the Cats...still hysterical to watch.

I agree with you about having a soft heart for them. However I've listened to former players Siva and Perrin on the radio whom stated that Yes Rick the week of the game was very dialed in and tense that he really wanted to win. But that added stress carried over to the team. Always in a negative way.Which I can see that because the team always played tight . Mack's first time against them they were just athleted period. This year going to be interesting I just wished it was at the Yum. Rupp that day is going to be us against 7

Nwora and Enoch will.have 2 fouls by the 7 min mark.

Nwora has already fouled out.

We are extremely deep this year much deeper than SuCk. That will be a huge advantage.

And we all know they will have some kid that hasnt done crap all year, will have the game of his season and go for 18. Will be his season high and 4-5 from the 3 pt line.

Yep I think the game plan should cover their under performer and plan on giving him extra attention. Because you know if we don’t he’ll burn us.

Their problem this year so far is they usually have a few guys that rebound and get easy buckets through put backs or easy lobs. Big missing component to what Cow usually has on the floor. And there is NO depth on the front court.

Good news for us, is we can play small or big and shouldnt lose much on either side. We will find out a lot about our team from 11/29-12/10. 2 solid teams and 2 other teams capable of beating you if not prepared.

I bet you right now it's going to be Juhzang whatever his name is. He is the 3 pt shooter who's been struggling . and barely. playing. And my other guarantee pick to go off Montgomery
