Season Ticket Holders Question

The leading candidate does NOT excite me 1 bit. I'll still be a diehard fan w/o a doubt, but spending the amount of money for season tickets like I have to watch a coach that I have never heard of, really is pushing it to the point that I'll watch the games on my couch and/or at BWW. I wonder if the leading candidate (Satterfield) makes other season ticket holders rethink about renewing.

Andrea Adelson (ESPN/ACC) told WKRD that UNC passed on Satterfield because they needed a coach that “moved the needle”. So, they took a 67 year old former HC. (Not good enough for UNC, but good enough for Louisville ??)

Tyra said that after Brohm decided to stay at Purdue, he was contacted by a number of coaches / agents who were very interested. I hope those coaches are given serious consideration.

Maybe wait and see who Tyra hires? All of the current candidates being discussed, honestly, do not excite me. However, I'll get behind any coach not named Neal Brown.

I know Satterfield looks good on the G5 stage but he really lacks exposure beyond NC. Apparently the few times he left the state his wife and kids didn’t like being away from NC so they hustled on back. Would our players have any clue about Satterfield? Would he be able to inspire any confidence in them? Would P5 level recruits be jumping on that bandwagon? No, no and no. I may be wrong and I’m sure he’s a good coach, but he won’t excite this fan base, players or recruits.

I don't know why....but my gut tells me Satterfield would be bad...hope I'm wrong. He looks way too nice. I want a dude with a Mullet or a big bushy mustache that intimidates players. That's one thing I never liked about Brohm, he seemed kind of corny to me. Charlie Strong, Schnelly, and even Petrino had a presence about them. An I intimidating demeanor.

All jokes aside, Day, Fickle, even Norvell seem better .What do I know .I could be totally wrong and he could be a great coach . He seems very Kraggy to me though.

Well, you’re down to Mike Gundy (OSU lifer) and Craig Stadler (retired).

Satterfield is a very good coach. It doesn’t matter if he’s never been at the P5 level. Football is football; many successful P5 coaches have started at lower levels. If he comes, we will be more than fine.

Good news is - whoever we get will be for far less than Brohm and less than petrino - so we can all bank on cheaper season tickets.

Good post. We definitely need a HC with the bearing and coaching credentials to get the players’ attention. The culture needs to change immediately. Additionally that HC needs to have the charisma to energize the fan base. Examples: Matt Campbell, PJ Fleck, Mike Leach, Matt Wells

So sick of this BS. I'm a Louisville fan so yes, I'll keep my tickets. For the ones that threaten to cancel because something doesn't go their way, then GO. Good riddance. We don't need your fake ass anyway.

It moved the needle because of how laughable it was. Satterfield was obviously the guy for the job and they screwed it up. I'll happily take him.

I'm not only in but may well upgrade my seats next year. Brohm was certainly a good choice but the thing that really made him stand out from his coaching peers was the prospect that the home town boy would sell more tickets. I urge you and others who feel the same to be good fans, support your team and come to the games...even without Brohm. :)

Peace

First off, Satterfield didn’t “move the needle” for UNC because he wasn’t interested in coaching in Chapel Hill. That’s not the place to go to win championships (not in this sport). Secondly, he has experience building a program, as he transitioned App St to 1-A. You can deride the Sunbelt all you want, but it’s still a significant step up from FCS 1-AA. And thirdly, they made that transition under Satterfield’s leadership with flying colors. They are about to win their 3rd conference title in a row!

Satterfield’s teams are fundamentally sound, good on both offense and defense, and they are disciplined (very few penalties). Is this not what UofL football needs right now?
