With the schedule set the way it is, I can easily see us at 5-1 or 4-2 going into the Clemson game. Back part of the schedule gets harder but I can definitely see a winning record and bowl game to close it out.

Thoughts?..........

Depends on QB development, and injuries IMO.

Get the first, avoid the second?

We will beat some we’re picked not to.

If don’t get the QB and have injuries we may go 2-10 again.

I think we’re in the “game by game” spot. Hard to predict the future with this team.

No way this group goes 2-10, they have heart this year which easily wins 3 games last year.

I love this team but getting 6 wins with this schedule is going to be a tall task. Assuming we handle EKU and WKU, you have to get 4 wins from:

@FSU - possible but going to be tough in Tallahassee. They were pounding #24 Boise St before they choked.

BC- winnable at home

@wake Forest- winnable road game

#1 Clemson- next

Virginia- possible at home but the Cavs have a solid team. Would definitely be an upset.

@Miami- unlikely road win

@NC State- unlikely road win

#21 Syracuse- anything is possible at home but still an unlikely win

@UK- with this rivalry you never know. I hate em but they seem to have a solid team.

If we could win 2 of 3 against BC, FSU and Wake (big if), then I can see 5 wins. To get 6, Satterfield would deserve COY in the ACC possibly.

I cannot easily see us at 5-1 or 4-2. Not currently riding a 10-game losing streak with a QB who has proven to be as inconsistent as Pass has.

Given the way things went in week 1, I can easily see us at 2-4 at the halfway point. EKU and WKU look like wins, although EKU seems like the tougher opponent at this point. FSU lost a close game against perhaps the top team from the G5, WF won a close game against what should be another of the top G5 teams, and BC whipped Virginia Tech in convincing fashion.

I don’t see where an 18 point home loss to a top 10 Notre Dame points to any of the FSU, BC or WF games as wins right now.

It's all about health IMO. The lack of quality depth makes me pause on making such predictions. The starters are plenty good enough and even some of the backups, but then it gets really thin. IF we can stay healthy, then I can see enough wins to go bowling.

Rollem, how hurt is Malik Cunningham? I heard he got hit in practice and during the game they said he could go in case of an emergency. Any news?

ACC All Access show was great to see more of how Malik got hurt. Linebacker actually cut in front of Malik to avoid hitting him during Malik’s throw, and the two players bumped knees (Malik’s left). With a knee you’ve always got to be careful, but it appeared to be much less serious than I thought.

Although I haven’t heard any updates, I believe you are correct that Malik is ready to go this week.

What Hack said.

I believe CSS figured ND was a loss no matter what so he kept MC out for extra healing.

I hope all three QBs play the next two games.

I hope so too. But some might think we are trying to start a QB shat storm talking like that.;):oops::rolleyes:o_O;)

Whoa, not so fast!

... on two counts here:
(1) I don't think another QB merry-go-round is worthwhile. Pass did a nice job in the run game, scoring twice, and while his pass completion percentage wasn't good, there were a few important dropped passes. I think he should be given the next two games to see what improvement he makes, with Cunningham getting some late game action if those games play out the way we would like. ND has maybe the second best defense we'll see all year.
(2) I am very encouraged by what I saw the other night, and I feel more confident than ever that we have the right guy leading the ship. But it was only one game, and while the outcome was a complete reversal from last year, there may still be no games in which the Cards are favored other than EKU and WKU, and I don't even want to count on those, they need to be earned. I adhere to the "let's play 'em one at a time" philosophy, and I just want to see a continuation of the great attitude and effort that we saw the other night.

Go Cards!

For the record

I want Pass to be all he was expected to be. Or even half would do probably.

HE is the BEST equipped to be a very successful QB. Best size. Best arm. (Maybe. Conley might be)

AFAIC he has two more games for it to “click” with him.

I would really love to see a formation with Malik, TuTu, and Hall in it. Those guys have to be the fastest on the team. If they ran some kind of jet sweep or bubble screen the D wouldn't know who the ball was going to. Before the figure it out, six baby.

If Puma's in too that puts three QB's or former QBs in the lineup at once.

Lot of possibilities ;)
