Saturday against Samford.

We will be there at usually time Wilkie. Sometime around 2PM. Weather should be beautiful. What I am hoping for is a shut out. At least for the starting defense and 50 points on the board. This is definitely attainable if you look at what Samford did last week. GO CARDS!

I still think the biggest problem with our team amongst our fanbase is lofty expectations. We're 0-3 because we've made a bunch of mistakes playing against good teams that can expose them. Mistakes are plentiful due to so many new parts getting acclimated, none more than on offense and up front.

Going out Saturday and expecting anything along the lines of a 50-0 game is a perfect example of that. Yes, Samford is an FCS school. They routed their 1st two FCS opponents averaging over 50 ppg, but lost 31-21 last week to Chattanooga. But do you realize that Chattanooga is a top-10 FCS team, who lost only to FCS Top 5 Jacksonville St by a score of 23-20? Jacksonville St lost to Auburn in OT, at Auburn. If you look at the Sagarin Ratings, you'll find Samford ranked in the neighborhood of a lower-level ACC school (Syracuse, Wake, etc). We should win, but 50-0? I think not.

I think a resounding win, like 38-17 or 42-21, would be a step forward.

ajgcardman, a win is all I want to see. 38-17 or 9-6 is fine with me. The team just needs a win to gain some much needed confidence.

We all need to face the fact that Strong did not recruit so well, after Hurt. We are having to rebuilt our whole offensive line. This will pass and we will move on.

If strong didnt recruit so well, how do you explain the 9 draft picks INCLUDING TWO OL,
that are STARTING in the NFL.
4 OL that Strong left, are no longer with the team. Petrino brought in jucos that have,
been beaten out by Strongs lineman.

No one gives credit to Strong for leaving, Bolin, Quick, Rankins, Crum, Kelsey, Burgess, etc.

Strong didnt blow timeouts, have bizarre playcalling, or he crappy 3-4. He beat UH, and almost
everyone complained how boring it was. Contrast and compare that "exciting" LOSS to UH, a few
weeks ago.

You'll wanted Bobby, you got him. All of his losses are on HIM, not some clown in Texas.

Petrino inherited a hell of a lot stronger set of players than Strong inherited. Granted Petrino is playing a much tougher schedule than did Strong his first few years but the fact remains Strong went out and brought a lot of talent to Louisville. Can we say the same about Petrino?

I honor everything CCS did other than his graceless exit, which even then I can understand. So, he and CBP are even on that at least. I don't get the weird loyalties to either of them among some fans...Either way, Bobby is our coach (again) now and all of the mental mistakes and the problems we are experiencing are correctible. We didn't go 0-3 against your typical opening slate, folks, and like most of you I expected to be at least 1-2 given that 2 of them were home games. That didn't happen so pull it together, we still have a season IMO and I intend to do exactly what the OP has said. It wasn't even a question.

Uhm, yes, we can. I'm real excited about Jackson, Crum, and many other of these young guys. Both these classes have been ranked around the same or higher than Strong's. Why is this even up for discussion? Remain calm would be my advice.

Spot on!

It's time to do some stat padding at every position on the field. When other teams were padding their stats in Week 1, against lesser competition, We were matching against tougher competition.

Let's play some catch up and light the scoreboard up. No disrespect intended to Samford. We just need to be out for blood here on out.

I would hope you would support who we are, not who we are not.

If you cannot recognize that xCCS had some problems with recruiting OL's then there is nothing anyone can do to help you understand that. It takes a lot more than 2 players to make an offensive line and there is a reason those Strong OL recruits are no longer on the team. CCS did great things here, but you also have to recognize his faults.

I still wonder how good CCS would look if Teddy went to Miami. Here's a hint, he would probably still be our coach.

I'll say this slowly.

You cant cherry pick one facet of the game to bash someone who isnt here.
Petrino has had two recruiting classes to shore up the OL.
Four of the starters are Strongs players. The players Petrino brought in , cannot beat
them out.

What if Bush had went to Tennessee. What if Brohm had went to SuCkS.

I get it. The 7 losses are because of Strong. The 9 wins are ALL because of Bobby.

Strong may be losing at Texas, but he aint losing here. Its all on BP. I still think we will turn this thing around and make a bowl.

I never said that, either. Like you, I was not in favor of rehiring CBP. However, he is now our coach, so he has my support. I am not saying that CBP does not share in the blame. I merely stated that one cannot blindly give CCS a pass.

And, you can cherry pick one area in this case when it was an obvious weakness during Strong's tenure and continues to be one to this day. In a normal college football world Bobby's OL recruits in his first 2 seasons would not yet be asked to make such important contributions because we would be relying on quality upperclassmen.
