I know what you mean. I'll keep my expectations in check until I see how he does in actual college games next season but the potential for him to be good is definitely there. His highlights are too much….I am afraid my expectations for how good this guy will be can’t be met. lol
If Fru is better then Pryor… I’ll be shocked… but very happyI have this fantasy that Fru can start at the 4, paired with a talented big man at the 5. Our issues inside would be gone.
Right. Pryor can shoot. He can drive with the ball in his hands. He has a lot of experience. Fru will be new to this system and to NCAA BB. I hope he is good enough to play quality minutes. I don’t have expectations he will walk in here and start from day 1.If Fru is better then Pryor… I’ll be shocked… but very happy

The RS 5 man has great passing skills. I think there is real potential here, for an upgrade when comparing to the last season. And that's not to criticize the guys they played hard. I'm hoping Fru comes with a little edge to him. I don't mean hot head but just a tough mentality. I feel like when we lost Pryor we lost that type of guy you gotta have on the front line.I have this fantasy that Fru can start at the 4, paired with a talented big man at the 5. Fru is new to the system, but he has 2 years of experience, 1 year as a starter, in Germany’s top pro league. He’s a very unusual first year NCAA player. I believe he’ll start, it’s just not clear in which position. I love Pryor, but he is coming off of a serious injury so we will see how effective he is.Right. Pryor can shoot. ESPECIALLY with the dudes we will have on the floor next season! Pryor shouldnt average more than 2, 3's/game, but that is my worry with him. He wants the ball in his hands and that WILL NOT be needed.Everybody CAN shoot but not everyone should.
Isn’t Pryor a career 43% shooter and 30% from three? I don’t want to beat up one of our guys too much but that isn’t exactly “shooter” percentages.
Well, I don't know how anyone can say Louisville was better without Pryor based on wins and losses. Cards lost to Tennessee with Pryor and that's it. He got injured in the Oklahoma loss and one could certainly say the Cards probably would have beaten the Sooners had he not got injured.I like Pryor, great competitor, but I am not sure I saw enough evidence that he contributed that much when he was on the floor. Clearly we missed the depth that he brought before he went out injured, but one could make an argument that we were better without him in terms of wins and losses.
I am totally comfortable either way, particularly if Pat wants him to return, but there is no assurance that he has recovered from the surgically repaired injury.
RealVille: You failed to include the rest of my comment; “in terms of wins and losses”. While I trust CPK 100% in determining Pryor’s return to UL, my comments were more directed to how well the team executed once we adjusted to Pryor’s absence.Well, I don't know how anyone can say Louisville was better without Pryor based on wins and losses. I think most people would agree the Cards would have been even better had he not got injured. We may have beaten Duke with him? He was the only tall player who was a threat to score, unlike Scott who could only dunk and Waterman who was as inconsistent as a player can get.
Remember Traore having to play the PF position? Pryor was the difference the team needed to compete with bigger teams. Now how he responds to the knee injury is anyone's guess. There's many factors and only those close to him know how he's currently doing.
I would love for him to be back if he's injury free.
Well, in my first sentence I did mention your comment that included wins and losses, so I did not fail.RealVille: You failed to include the rest of my comment; “in terms of wins and losses”. If you examine Pryor’s statistics during his rather brief 7 game appearance, his overall 36% shooting percentage, and his dismal 15% 3 point shooting, while committing 2.1 turnovers in 23 minutes of floor time, it does not suggest his contribution was worthy of the sort of attention that he is receiving at this time.
We lost to a very excellent Tennessee Volunteer team early on, where Pryor played 24 healthy minutes, but he only went 1-7 from the field, which included 0-5 from 3 range, and he had only 2 rebounds. In fairness I should acknowledge that we only scored 55 points in 40 minutes, and aside from Noah Waterman, no one played well that game.
My recollection of Pryor’s performance was he was very active and gave 100% effort and exhausted energy on every single play. However, he took a lot of ill-advised 3s that I thought exposed some selfishness on his part, but that is just me. Kelsey knows what he wants, and he sure knows Pryor’s potential much better than I do.

I’m 100% with you bro. Pryor did and does things that nobody else on our team can do. While I agree with some - that want to nit pick at his performance - that he did handle the ball and shoot more than he probably should. As has been stated multiple times.,, it was early in the season and we had yet to find out identity. He is a warrior and a team first guy and he will adjust and assume whatever roll necessary. He even said that he didn’t care if he started, and it was whatever was best for the team.Well, in my first sentence I did mention your comment that included wins and losses, so I did not fail.
As for Pryor, he performed in his brief time on the court like everyone else when it came to poor shooting percentage. The Cards were launching questionable 3 point shots all over the place.
It was very clear to me however, that Pryor was a huge benefit for the team, and his absence reduced Kelsey's offense and defense. There's no reason to believe that he wouldn't have improved like his teammates did and contributed to all those ACC wins.
Maybe Rooths would have played less minutes, and Traore wouldn't had to play out of position and contributed more than he did? Pryor isn't a world beater but if he had improved over the season like his teammates, Louisville would have been much tougher to defeat.
You also have to consider his performance before he became a Cardinal. He improved each season of his career and was poised to break out for a power 5 team. His stats for those 7 games are not a reflection of how good or bad his season would be. That is my opinion anyway.
Most Cards fans want him back because of his potential. A 6'11 dude who can play on the perimeter as well as underneath. How he reacts to the knee injury is the biggest question.
Yeah looks like a textbook glue guy. Let's hope he sticks around. Won't need heavy minutes to impact a game.I’m 100% with you bro. Pryor did and does things that nobody else on our team can do. If he is healthy he will make us way better than what we would be without him - no matter who else we get.
