Great game from Sam, especially in the first half. Now that's the Sam I think everyone was hoping to see. Cards needed it with Locke and Cross having a bad night.

Although when his shot doesn't fall like that, still want to see him rebounding, defending, etc.

Sam is not shooting well at FT line ... or 3's. His FT percentage is 3 for 9 (0.333). 3pt is 1 for 4 (0.250) ... Perhaps "concentration"?

Yeah both Sam and Ellis? Missed two FTs in a row. Have to shore that up for close games. Was pleasantly surprised to see Wheeler hit most of his free throws.

I think he knows he isnt a great 3 point shooter as most of the time, he pump fakes and takes the 12-15 footer. 4 threes in 5 games......could care less. FT's on the other hand, thats a problem.

Sam could easily score 20 a game if he just did the things he's good at. That could also be said for some others on this team as well. A lot of guys are good at a lot of things but seem to want to do other things, that they're not good at. Hopefully Mack irons that out..

I'll say this for Sam his attitude seems very good. There aren't too many borderline 4/5 star players that would be staying at a program that didn't hand them 30 minutes and 15-20 shots per. The guy doesn't even start. But from what I've seen he enjoys the game and is competitive. Might struggle with confidence.

He's stuck with this program during some dark times.

He may not live up to the expectations he wouldn't be the first that couldn't. But I appreciate him, and hope for good things for this kid. Really seems to be a team guy.

Another rough game for Sam. Yes a good team road win.

At this point I just don't expect it to happen for Sam. Anything out of him feels like a bonus right now.

We always seem to have a player like this. We have all seen Sam shine many times in his career here. Just this season he had a awesome first half with 17 points.

But he still doesn't have a good handle with the ball and his outside shot is mostly still flat. High expectations out of high school I believe has done him in. He's a role player at best. A four year guy with a zero NBA game.

Maybe he has accepted this but I don't think so. That's why he's playing so poorly. He's trying to do more than he is capable of because he's now a junior. Time is running out.

I wouldn't be surprised if he and JJ Traynor hit the portal after the semester.
