An early casualty of the 20-game ACC basketball schedule may be a UNC-LPT OOC game. (Or Duke for that matter.)

I'm OK with going to 22 or 24 games if it improves the overall schedule. Plenty of good games in the ACC.

And fewer games involving slapd!cks--although Auburn and Miss State may vote for more SEC games.

Kentucky and North Carolina play this year in Vegas as part of the CBS Sports Classic so Roy isn't saying Buh-bye just yet.

Duke, UK, Kansas and Mich St signed to play through 2019 in the Champions Classic. This says a lot about who ESPN thinks are top programs. I also think that us and UNC would have been considered if we didn't have this cloud over us...

Roy said EXCEPT for the Champions Classic. And who knows how long that survives?

For the reading impaired, the UNC-LPT game is/was IN ADDITION TO the Champions Classic. Roy's saying they may continue one and not the other.

You don't say. Since UNC has never been part of the CC.

No idea since I don't watch it. (I should have anticipated nccardfan bringing up another irrelevant point...)

Whatever "classic" game UNC is featured in will evidently continue. He's just not scheduling one-off slapd!ck games anymore.

Good move on his part.

As an update...

Heard Pitino Lite on the radio tonite acknowledging that the Louisville series could be similarly affected. Everyone pretty much knows that works for me.

He also opined that LPT will never have any trouble scheduling basketball games. I agree esp. if the opponents' names are "Ole Miss" and "LSU".

Not agreeing, just relating that he's accepting a newer form of reality that many of us may not be.

And a broken clock is also right twice a day...

One less ACC quality opponent for UK just means they can pad their overinflated win totals against more bogus SEC quality opponents.

Actually UK is 162-79 vs ACC. Since we don't have a losing record vs any conference....why not just keep widening the gap? Maybe cancelling UL/UNC games stop that. It is much more fun to beat up on ACC teams though, we don't get to see them as often.

Since you wish to travel down this road, I'll play along for a bit. For years and years, UofK fans have been crowing that the reason UofL does so well in football is due to a weaker conference schedule. True or not true?

Couldn't the same thing apply regarding UofK basketball? Wouldn't it be easier to win the occasional tough game when you play sub par competition (generally speaking) during conference play? Less wear and tear on the body? Less emotional letdowns to overcome? Easier path to 20+ wins each year?

Just food for thought.

Much, much easier to get up for a couple of Super Bowls each year. A crap conference schedule allows that.

And if you check in LPT land, you'll see a little sphinctering about the prospects of other ACC schools following in UNC's footsteps. Active talk about the attractiveness of scheduling series with Memphis, UConn, or Nova.

The few remaining little brothers in our fanbase need to throw off that baggage and understand how in control of their destiny you/we are. When you have control, you prove it by exercising it.

We also need to support this ACC Network plan with 100% of our focus. I'm good with increasing to 22 conference games in 2018 and 24 in 2022. (The 'zipp' plan...) If/when you add Texas as a full basketball member, you'll have one more team to schedule. You'd have to add two games just to keep up...think about it. But that's likely gonna be some serious basketball revenue for the best conference in history.

What the goofball (hey I kind of like that) fails to understand is that if you think it's bad having to listen to their fans all the time, imagine what it would be like if we didn't at least have an opportunity to put them in their place. Probably go back to what it was before, always wondering who would win but no matter because you didn't have a chance to prove it. They would never shut up. Why do you think they get rid of coaches like Gillespie or why Henderson stepped down (for that matter our coach K)? It boils down to if you can't beat your rival...

Fact is.. Goofball, they will always be our rival and even you can't change that even though in your small mind, you may think you can. That's not out of a box, unless it's a crackerjacks box.

That's not the issue. We, technically use a loophole to bring in 5th year graduate students and while I don't agree with the one and done, it's allowed by the NCAA. We just need to continue and hope that the players CRP brings in develop to his expectations and perform.

You mean like you're doing now, Lawrenceburg?

Yeah, you hardly hear a peep outta the slapd!cks now. Not even sure they're aware that they're winning most of the basketball games. Pure genius. And the only U of L fans walking around "wondering" how we match up with LPT are little brothers like yourself.

No question. Billy Clyde and K-rag are both gone mostly because they couldn't beat the other school. Any idea how ate up that makes you sound, Lawrenceburg?

Tell that to Roy and Pitino Lite as well. They're handicapping that our little brother fans are gonna have to fast forward into 2016.

I don't mind saying that I love living in Lawrenceburg. I can enjoy rooting for the Cards without listening to all the crazy kitties in Jefferson County. There are at least 4 Cardinal families on my street and the next one over. At least I'm not afraid to say where I live but I can understand why you don't put "under a rock" as your residence.

Nice, avoiding the subject(s).
