I wouldn't get to worked up about next season's class here's why. 1. Scrubb will not go pro . His father said he would go if he were a projected lottery pick. He's awesome but first 14 picks? I not thinking so. So he'll be here plus the law t few years the graduate transfer pool has been loaded. So what if we have to pick up 2 or 3. They will only be here 1 year so you can recruit hard for the following year. I think Milik Williams returns so we will have Williams, igehon, Slazinsky, Withers, Scrubb, Jhonson, Nickelberry, Perry, . that's 8 plus a couple transfers makes 10 . and I guess we still pickup at least 1maybe 2more high school seniors. So we will be fine

Scrubb is not coming that lottery talk was just talk by his father . If he gets any guarantee of being a NBA pick he gone. And if you follow his game he is NBA legit.

Maybe so but considering the last player to go straight from Juco to the NBA was Donte Smith from Oldham Co. About 7-8 years ago or so. All we can do is wait and see. I'm guessing he kills it during his workouts so he probably won't suit up. Either way its looking like we need to aquire a list of the top players in the country that will be graduate transfers next season. We have had great results with these players. We even picked up 2 in as many seasons with good results. Personally the graduate transfer route is the safest way to go until this black cloud hanging over us is gone. Its scaring recruits away. Going this route the schollies we use are only locked up for 1 year . Not to mention the players you get from this route are experienced mature well rounded and predictable. Even if we have to take 3 or 4 next year with our returning core of players we will be a solid team. Especially since next year unlike the majority of years past we will return multiple point guards. That's huge. Using the small but impressive group of recruits that we have been involved with since Mack arrived our future is crazy bright. As soon as this Ncaa shit is over we will be a major player for the nations top recruits year in year out. Its very obvious that today's recruits see Mack in a very different light than they did Petino. I looked at every single class Perino had at UL and it is freaking disappointing. Especially when you consider that of the handful of top 20 recruits he did land while here how little we actually got from them. It seems.like every time he brought in a 5 star kid they had some kind of baggage. Anyway. Mack and co. Are freaking on a completely different plane of understanding of today's recruits. He hasn't even been here 2 years and the level of recruit he has gotten either visits, been on short lists of and for that matter signed is where you have to be to win titles. We will never see any more of the project players brought in by Petrino out of desperation . seriously think about how many scholarships he basically threw away while here. Its amazing we were as competitive as we were all those years. Not even one time in his almost 20 years of coaching at UL did Petino land an elite point guard. Don't freak out on me people I loved Siva as much as any of you but fact is he was not a 5* elite recruit. That's insane. Not 1 time. That is an incredible example of his coaching ability. ( coaching not recruiting ). How many ff' s would the other blue bloods have without all the 5* point guards theyve all had. He signed 1 5* center in Samardo Samuels. 1 5* power forward that was a.headcase. in Shane Bohannen. A few small forwArds who were 5* in Terrance Williams, Blackshear, and VJ King. And E5. That pretty much sums up his list of.bad boy recruits. I'm sure ive forgotten. Somebody but you get the point. Not exactly what UL fans predicted when he came to town. Sorry bout the rant but. We'll be fine next year. We will be unstoppable soon after.

Some of what you stated is totally true . I 've brought up Rick's recruiting and some have forgotten all the project player classes especially after his first final 4 .People just want to remember the classes during the 2010-13 run which was not the norm of talent he had been getting.

True true but.even then we won a title with
5* Chane Bohannen
4* Giorgio Diang?
4* Peyton Siva
4* Montrezl Harrell
4* Wayne Blackshear ( I was wrong )
4* Kevin Ware
2* Russ Smith
Transfer Luke Hancock
You know what I mean. The only 5* player on that team only gave us 3/4 of a headache filled season. Greatest season / absolute miracle . very rare and very difficult way to win one. Patience our time is upon us. Serious business there is every reason in the world why we should have top 5-10 classes anually. Rick was the defender of the old guard. Its like he refused to change when recruiting clearly did.
