LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Katina Powell, the former Louisville escort whose book, “Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen,” claims she was paid to provide escorts for sex with University of Louisville basketball recruits and players, will conduct a round of national television interviews on Tuesday.

Powell, according to her publishing company, will appear on ESPN’s SportsCenter and Outside the Lines, and on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Her appearances are set to coincide with the hard-copy release of her book, which now is available at Barnes & Noble booksellers.

Powell’s publisher, IBJ Books out of Indianapolis, says she kept five journals with details of her story, which she and the book’s author say is backed up by hundreds of text messages.

Powell has not spoken publicly since the publication of the book — except to answer a couple of questions to a Courier-Journal reporter. She did not respond to multiple interview requests from WDRB News.

Looks like the delay of the hard-copy release was about scheduling media appearances to promote it, rather than for the other speculated reasons.
