Watching the Kansas game and he said something along the lines regarding Kansas's success and wins in the big 12 . He made sure to say, " and Kansas has done this in a legit basketball conference unlike some other schools" or something along those lines.

Makes you think. I know UK probably won't have the most wins anymore after they vacate last season but they sure hang their hat on that a lot. They did it in the crappy ass SEC. While other teams like Kansas, Duke, UNC have been playing in power house conferences forever .

Lol, are you really counting Kentucky’s championships to make the SEC look good? During the run Kansas has been on in the Big12, other than two Florida years, the SEC has been CRAP.

Without researching it, I'd say the B12 hasn't been all that great of a basketball league traditionally - I just don't think title counts and B12/SEC challenge is the foundation for the argument.

Bill, I am not going to go as far to say they are not a legitimate BB conference, but I will say this - they have been continuously overrated for years ad nauseum. As posted above, two - count 'em - titles since Kansas in the 50's, 1988 and 2008. A miracle and a blown game by the opponent. For years the only half of the schools that cared about BB.

To say this year is any different would be a stretch. IMO this year's Kansas team is not as good as the one I saw lose to Nova at the Yum a couple of years ago. Nowhere near as deep. OU does not have a team as good as the Buddy Hield team. They are struggling. Yet some would have us believe the rest are better than B4. Maybe, but history and my eyes tell me otherwise.

B12 = Overhyped and Underperformance personified.
