Had a chance to talk to some good sources around the program in the last couple of weeks.
Here’s what I was told:
- the defense is much improved - already.
- the defense got after the offense in the spring. One source said “the defense dominated the offense.”
- Russ Yeast is starting at strong safety in the new defense
- Anthony Johnson is going to start at corner and is going to be a really solid player before it’s all said and done
- a veteran that is putting in more work than he ever has in his time at Louisville: GG Robinson. I’ve been told he is ready to have a big year.
- a source also mentioned just how good Cort Dennison and Bryan Brown are. These 2 are doing WONDERS for the defense. (Both will be head coaches someday)
- Early candidate to embrace more of a leadership role on the defense? Amonte Caban.
