I wish that we could make a bet on every single preseason prediction about our Louisville team. We are either completely unranked or ranked around the 40’s in most polls. Jerry Palm has us as a 12 seed play in game, and some have us missing the tournament all together. We will end up top 20 if not top 10 at the end of the season.

Personally i like being unranked or low ranked. This program even during the Crum era seems to be a Louisville thing never really handles high expectations well. We seem to consistently perform better as prey rather than a predator. Work hard with a edge when people don't see you coming . This team is going toe really good . Unless something drastic happens i truly expect this team to be a second weekend squad. I can't say or think at this moment if they any better than sweet 16 material at best.

It's once again a media bias against UofL. Most only vote for Louisville when they have to. Any doubt and they don't treat the program as a blue blood. It's obvious the roster has dramatically improved but it doesn't matter.

So very early, but this may be one of the most intriguing UL basketball teams in my memory. Despite returning 4 players from 2020 who started at one time or another, it is the incoming transfers that I believe will be the strength of this team. We have witnessed the positive impact from previous transfers, like Carlik Jones, but this incoming group will provide a level of maturity, experience, leadership and depth that will be unprecedented.

I have felt like UL, over these last several years, has been victimized by insufficient depth at multiple positions due to initial preseason roster issues, combined with unpredictable illness & injuries; this 2021 team will have more than sufficient experience and depth to compete week in, and week out.

I will go ahead and say it now; by the time NCAA tournament rolls around, this UL team will be projected as a legitimate top 10 team.

I'd like to see us play together first.

My issues are generally overall talent ceiling and chemistry. This is going to be a new team coming together and you never know how long that takes.

But, this is a great team. Overall it's one of the deepest rosters we have ever had. Now it's not amazing talent, but it's better than 90-95% of the nation. We have guys that can hit shots.

We have Samuel Williamson and Malik Williams. Sam has NBA talent and is a 2 year returning starter. Malik is a 5th year senior who could be an ALL-ACC or even All-American level talent if healthy. 8 of our guys are in at least their 3rd year college. It's going to be a very mature team.

My question is Ellis, West Faulkner at point. I think it's solid, but is it top 10-15 level talent? I think we are easily a top 25 team.

I'm not ready to move into BB mode quite yet. Next month they start official practice and I'm thinking about the new look we've heard so much about. Let it be!!! I need to get this FB bug going first.

I'm kinda on the line. We just haven't had any tournament action for so long and a full year out of the YUM has made me miss it so much.

I can absorb UL basketball and football simultaneously. I think it goes back to a time “back in the day”, when my group would attend the open fall football practices, and later in the evening stop over to Crawford Gym and watch Derek Smith and Rodney McCray going at it. Those days are gone, but my ability to share interest in both sports at the same time remains intact.

I must confess that I really miss the ability to attend Fall practices.

Mack's suspension of 6 games has to be taken into consideration now, that's some key time to find his combinations etc.
