I've tried to have some patience with Sirmon, but tonight sealed the deal. He is in over his head. He does nothing schematically to put pressure on the offense. Rushing 4 guys and sitting back in a 2 deep zone is what I would expect from a high school defensive coordinator. Hell, after the game, Doeren even said he told their team if Finley had time he was gonna shred the secondary.
And offensively, would someone let Bobby know that it's ok to run the ball with a running back (although our only running back left is a misplaced quarterback). Perhaps things will improve post-Lamar when the offense gets back to better balance. Quite frankly, I think the rest of the season goes down the crapper because I don't think Petrino can motivate these guys at all.
