I’m a huge CC fan, I also was a huge “Q” fan. Both are doing and did their best. BUT, neither was elite and we haven’t had an elite point guard in forever.

While there’s plenty of basketball to watch I can’t help but have one eye on the future as well. Mack has signed an exceptional class for next season but I’m not sure we have the point guard spot covered. An elite point guard guides you through the choppy waters and gives you a chance of a deep tourney run in March. Without one your basically just pissing in the wind.

Agree. The PG spot will be a weakness next year. Cunningham has done a terrific job with the team this year, and it's a crying shame we can't have him back for another year. Same goes for Fore who has done a solid job as a lock down defender. Both are not big enough to see over the top of full court pressure though.

The only thing I can see regarding the guards who are coming in next year is they are tall. Both are 6 foot 4 which means they might be able to see the court better. The returning guards - McMahon 6 foot, and Perry 6 foot 2 are exactly what we have now with Cunningham and Fore. Maybe one of the incoming forwards has a good enough handle to help bring the ball up the court. Sutton tries to fill that role this year, and he does just OK in that role.

Watch the video on Williamson......6'7 or so and can handle the ball to help the guards.
I’ve seen video of Williamson. The guy appears to be (maybe) the best talent to walk though our door in a long, long, time. But, he’s not a point guard. Can he help bring it up (ala Billy Thompson)? Yes. But I’m talking a real point guard.

Totally agree--I was answering the call-out of having some size being able to help get the ball up the floor and see over the press. Right now it looks like Johnson, Perry, McMahon will share the main role. I hate to say it, but I hope King graduates and Perry just realizes he needs a fresh start. Then we can land a GT or another PG.
