Listened to the CRP / Valvano post game interview. A few things stood out to me. Now I didn't get to watch the game, and listened to most of second half on the radio.

CRP said teams have started picking certain guys (wouldn't give names) and started driving on them. Said UVa didn't run an offense against us, just did this the whole game, and that Miami pretty much did the same today. Called us a bad defensive team, still have to improve this.

He also said he was very worried about this game, talked about his time in NBA when King got hurt and the team played great, then King came back and they lost 4 straight. Said guys were trying harder with King out and let up some once he was back. Was worried that would happen today.

Called this the best when of the season, said 90% of teams lose this type of game. Said we will learn a lot from this win, credited JJ on the glass for getting us the W.

It was a gut check win for sure. This team didn't quit today. They dug in and kept after it even when it looked like a lost cause. This was a very good win. Miami is one of those teams that can bust a bracket in the post season.

I think earlier in the season we "allowed" guys to drive by us because we had the shotblockers in the back. I can't remember when Mahmoud has more than 1 block now when we was getting 4 or 5. Now the pressure is more on the guards to turn the players from driving to the rim.

Miami did a great job of making the extra pass for the first 30 minutes. It all starts with beating our guys off of the bounce though - it opens up the baseline and wing 3 point shots. I'm with NCCard though - it sure would be easier if Anas could stay on the court longer to protect the rim.
