His comments on Donovan running the point this year, and I'll paraphrase- "the team played its best when Donovan ran the point." He would later clarify, "Donovan played his best when running the point." They're kind of both the same since if Donovan is playing his best, the team likely is, as well. I don't know how you'd bench a senior PG next year. Q gives everything he's got. But, Donovan at PG, Deng at the 2, VJ small forward, Mahmoud in the middle and JJ at the 4 sounds pretty good to me.

Why couldn't Q start at the 2 in our offense? With our offense he could be the spot up jumper shooter we need, and Mitchell as PG could be excellent at getting him the ball off penetration. DM is just better at creating and getting into the lane. Nothing would change on the defense the way we switch anyways.
Agreed. I was referring to the notion of "benching a senior". No need to. Just turn over "primary" ball handling duties to Mitchell.

You'd rather Q at the two over Deng? Q gives you shooting. Deng gives that and more.
It's obvious for this to work. DM has to improve on his ball handling and court awareness. His assist to turnover ratio is well below 2.0 which is considered the measure of a PG. For snider to play the 2, his defense has to improve for him to stay on the court; otherwise Adel is the better option. I think Snider just becomes a backup to DM if that's the way we go. I'm not sure it's not CRP coach speak to hopefully get DM to stay another year since he is projected as a 1 in the pros. You can't always change your team for the betterment of one player, you have to figure out what works best for all of your players. I think that is where we struggled this year. Finding the right combinations.
I think I need to see Adel improve his handles before I can answer that.I won't be bothered by Q taking a different role,if need be.The need is for the team to achieve the very highest reward a team can get.
Just me,but I think if DM is enticed with the notion that he can be an outstanding pg and pursues that thought process,this number will improve.He's thinking shot most of the time,but change that thought process about making teammates better with his passing,he will have his eyes in a different direction.
