Pitino is out

First necessary step. I'm personally hoping that TJ's loyalty to Rick doesn't cost him his job, especially knowing all the incredible accomplishments he has made at UofL.

Unfortunately the 'cleaning house' mentality usually wins out though over looking at the full picture. The fear of 'what if something else happens' takes over and cleaning house gives people a short lived sense of a accomplishment.

Getting us in the ACC, Dan McDonnell, Ken Lolla, Jeff Walz and all the other great coaches here, First rate athletic facilities and turning around sports programs that were either non existent or had become irrelevant has to count for something.

Tom may not be warm and fuzzy but his accomplishments dwarf his mistakes.

The reality is that the "what if scenario" happened after the prostitution scandal..

I agree but I also think that getting rid of Pitino and his staff was enough.

I don't hear any of our other sports programs at UofL doing anything other than performing well.

TJ clearly stuck his neck out to keep Pitino around. He became tied at the hip at that point, so this should be no surprise. It has nothing to do with any other sports, it’s a stain on our university due to basketball, due to TJ’s guy.

What could be Tom's ultimate undoing is that if he fired CRP after the prostitution scandal instead of support ing him, he may have been able to keep his job.

Ah. Yes I see that now Louisvillian. I'm a little numb right now so all these thoughts are mashing together in my head.

UofL should of did this two years ago. Now who does UofL hire as AD and for a new basketball coach. UofL missed out big time on Archie Miller.

Wow... what a disaster. I thought (hoped) maybe things wouldn't look as bad this morning. Even told myself that maybe this whole thing was overblown and it would be shown to be confined to another rogue assistant. Looks like I was likely fooling myself. Not even angry at this point - just stunned.
