'm am completely tired of this university of Louisville dirty house laundry being played out in the media. Can we just stop the bleeding? What i'm afraid of now is when a new president comes in this will just give Jurich his reason to go if another big school comes calling. that siuation should have not played out in the public as it did.Not any good spin on it whatsoever. Both sides need to clear this up immediatly.

Why is Schnatter on the Board? What does he know about higher education? He made a fortune selling crappy pizza. Now he's taking pot shots at Jurich? I was worried when Bridgeman left the board. All that's left are a bunch of Bevin sycophants who could care less about UofL. All Papa John is interested in is getting his name on as many things as possible.
From the UofL web site only 4 of 10 non student members of the board have a UofL degree. Two have UK degrees. Shouldn't a majority of the UofL Board of Trustees have a UofL degree?

You cant tell me politics are not involved in this crap. However until the truth comes out if ever. I will refrain from total blame on either side. Cause just when you think and hope that Jurich and his athletic side is clean it will be opposite. With the way things have gone latley.

Absolutely right. People like Schnatter think because they've been successful in one area, that automatically means they're qualified in everything. He's a shameless self promoter as evidenced by his public comments. Give him his 5 million back and take his name - and crappy pizza - off / out of the stadium.

If we ever lose Tom Jurich due to Papa's bull crap I'll never buy his pizza again!
If that happens, I hope that one of the great local pizza shops in the Ville decide to craft a new pizza and call it the "Up Yours, Schnatter!"

Which reminds of other places I always go to when I am in Louisville: Bearno's and Wicks.

We are all grateful that someone has the courage to stand up and say the obvious. There have been enough embarrassments and financial shenanigans with the top administrators and enough embarrassments with the basketball program.

So I'll ask you the same thing that I'd ask of Papa John . . . what would YOUR solution to the problems you mentioned above be? You see I think if someone like Papa John, or you, is willing, as you say, "to stand up and say the obvious" they you should have the intestinal fortitude to give us solutions to the "problems". What say you?

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

Except that's not what he did. Apparently you hear about as well as you read.

We are all grateful to Papa John for his generosity to U of L . We are not grateful for bloated payments to top administrators and the embarrassment to the basketball program. Happy Peazzter to everyone!

I think everyone realizes there have been "shortcuts' financially and that Ramsey was a fund raiser without peer. When you are doing deals with money people they always expect things in return. I thought the stat that athletics makes up less than 8% of the overall university budget was very interesting. I think Schnatter would have better served the University by concentrating on the Foundation financials-but they may involve some quickie deals involving he and his company-among others. Just a thought-it is a very efficient tactic to throw somebody else under the bus before the bus hits you. Schnatter did not get where he is by being a nice guy.

I've read some posts full of conjecture and speculation - this one is a doozy.

Clearly you're talking specifically about your posts. Good for you - the first step towards solving a problem is first admitting that you have it.

Deflection and distraction are the strategy du jour in this day and age. There's one guy in particular, I won't mention his name, but he's pretty high up, uses it routinely. He doesn't even care how stupid he looks and sounds when he does it, too. It's amazing.

I find it hard to believe that without Ramsey & Jurich that the Cardinal athletic department as well as the entire university would be where it is today. I'm thankful that Ramsey came along when he did, otherwise we would be sitting beside USF, UConn, and Houston!

What Ramsey is/was is smart enough to recognize genius. He saw in Jurich--a guy whom his predecessor recruited--someone who can lead the athletic department to greatness. All Ramsey had to do was let Jurich captain his own ship, champion his efforts, and provide him the resources he needed within reason. (Since the department continues to pay for itself, those resources were not financial.) And that freed Doc up to govern everything else...

Check out Louie Louie's in J'Town. Great Detroit style pizza. Ask for extra sauce and be ready for pure pizza pleasure. And Schnatter is a dick.

What is "Detroit Style" pizza? I'm not familiar with that term.

Sorry, it's Detroit style. Originally, they were made in parts pans from the GM and Ford production lines. It's made in square steel pans allowing the cheese to caramelize around the edges making it crispy. It is also similar to Chicago deep dish in that it is dough then filling and then cheese. The sauce is added after it comes out of the oven. I always order additional sauce. It comes on the side and you can add as much as you want. It's located in the old Ferd Grisante building on Taylorsville road just west of the Jtown square. I think it's the best in the city. Try it!

Hmmm...sounds pretty damn delicious. But then again, I never met a pizza I didn't like. Thanks for the tip.

I think Ferd's son Vince is involved in this place and even cooks there a few days a week. He was the main chef at Ferd's.
