It was not just being down 2-1, it was the domination that Oregon showed in that 3rd set that made the Cards response so impressive. The Oregon Team had a Match Point in that 4th set, but the Cards would not give in. Anna was unbelievable, and was supported by a bunch of teammates who really stepped up.
Pitt upset Wisconsin, who beat UofL in the Final Four last season. Pitt and UofL split during this season.

It is hard to identify what makes winning programs but I think at the simplest level it boils down to trust. When players and coaches genuinely trust each other that is when great seasons happen.
True trust blocks out all the negative shit that can kill chemistry. They got it. They don’t win that match without trusting in each other.
I think that women’s basketball and baseball operate that way. It is a year to year battle. Football and basketball has really struggled. I think the lack of trust through out both programs including fans. It has really held both back over the last 5 years. I believe Jeff Brohm instantly solves the fans trust issues. Players-fans no longer have to worry about who their coach will be. KP has to earn the fans trust. He needs to them just as much as he needs players.
