Any Love Jones fans on the board??
These guys were all the rage 25 years ago. A lounge-y type style, their first album has songs about the Ohio River, going to the Drive-In, partying on Central Avenue during Derby season ... basically, about growing up in Louisville.
They were publicizing a re-release of their debut album this summer, and scheduled a show for a club tonight in New York City ... and long time fan Jimmy Fallon heard about it, and invited them on the Tonight Show last night. I'm sorta buds with Ben Daughtrey, the co-lead singer and bongo player, and he told me lots of random stories about their time out in LA chasing the dream. Like David Schwimmer (better known as Ross on Friends) would have them over to go swimming on the regular.
Anyway ... if you are in the New York City area, Love Jones is playing one of the 3 shows a year they play, at the Cutting Room. Google for more info.
