If Kentucky goes on to win the national title, they will get through their league schedule with just 1 game against ranked teams. Today vs. #18 Arkansas.

That made me wonder, when was the last time that happened?

2014: UConn played 9 games against Top 25 league teams.

2013: Louisville played 7 games against Top 25 league teams.

2012: Kentucky played 3 games vs. Top 25 teams (all Florida)

2011: UConn played 10 games against Top 25 league teams.

2010: Duke played 5 games against Top 25 league teams (plus Georgetown, so 6 after January)

2009: North Carolina played 5 games against Top 25 league teams

2008: Kansas played just 3 games vs. Top 25 teams, Kansas State and Texas twice.

2007: Florida played just 3 games vs. Top 25 league teams.

2006: Florida played just 2 games vs.Top 25 league teams, just on during the regular season.

2005: North Carolina played 6 games vs. Top 25 league teams (plus UConn, so 7 after January)

I stopped checking after 10 years, but the other title winners are:

2004: UConn
2003: Syracuse
2002: Maryland
2001: Duke
2000: Michigan State
1999: UConn
1998: Kentucky
1997: Arizona
1996: Kentucky
1995: UCLA
1994: Arkansas
1993: North Carolina
1992: Duke
1991: Duke
1990: UNLV (They'd be my pick).
