Is anyone else interested in the Finals? Cavs v. Warriors III. I know this board tends to stray away from NBA talk.

I will be watching. Interested in seeing how this thing plays out. I just hope it lives up to the hype.

The GSW are heavy favorites understandably so, considering they have 4 all-stars.

I like the Cavs in 7 only if they can win 1 of the first 2 games. They lose the first 2 and I think it's a wrap.

I'll be watching. It will be interesting to see if the addition of KD made the difference.

Nope, not really all that interested. It is a form of basketball though so if I can keep the wife from binge watching some show on netflix, I might tune it in for a quarter or two. Probably not.

I'm very interested. Always have watched the Finals. The NBA finals are very competitive and some of the best basketball I've watched. Game 7 last year was crazy.

I'll be watching tonight.

I'll guess, Warriors in 6.

Couldn't care less, although I'm sure I'll hear snippets here and there how the series is going.

Like I say with all of our ex-players, I hope the pros pay each of them millions of dollars. But that doesn't make me a fan of pro leagues. I'd almost rather watch paint dry.

And what's really solidified me AGAINST pro sports in recent years is our increasingly unique situation in Louisville with U of L. Fine if you wanna watch it from afar. But pro sports in THIS community will work in opposition to U of L athletics regardless of what anyone rationalizes. It's not something U of L will say, but their language about being our "pro sports teams" speaks volumes.

And if you're a U of L fan, you're wise to listen...

Yeah I'll be watching the finals. Hopefully it lives up to the hype and goes 7 games. Don't really care too much who wins, just want to see a good series.

Losing Draymond last year was the difference.

Having DG and KD this year sure does make them look unbeatable. GS's interior defense played well last night; made it tough inside for Cleveland, resulting in a lot of jump shots. And Cleveland left GS a clean path to the rim WAY too often, resulting in, well...a lot of dunks.

That's important why exactly?

Love the NBA Finals. I was just telling someone the other day this is the most hyped I've been for a Finals since Kobe's last one in 2010.

I picked the Warriors in 6 but I'm still not too confident in my pick. They are the better team but I've learned not to bet against LBJ when the odds are against him.

I fully expect game 2 to be much more competitive on Sunday.

Same here. LBJ and Irving can go off at any point (see last year's Finals). The GSW looked unbeatable last night. The scary thing is that DG and Klay did not play all that well and they still won by 22. Scary.

The Cavs played well for about a quarter and a half, but they seem to run out of gas. I am not on board with those now predicting a sweep although I could easily see that playing out.

The GSW were more physical last night in my opinion. They out outworked the Cavs last night on most 50/50 balls, rebounds and were more physical.

Look for the Cavs to play better defense and be a lot more physical in game 2. The Cavs have several shooters that will get loose in at least one or two of these games to help get them over the hump.

This series is not over. I hope not anyway.

Agree with a lot of your post, especially about rebounding. The Cavs got killed on the offensive glass last night.

I'll also add that the Cavs need to go back to third grade to learn how to play defense. How long have these guys been taught to stop the ball on a fast break? Yet Durant drove in for dunk after dunk because the Cavs were scared to death to leave Steph and Klay open on the wings.

Love the finals. Obviously going for GSW being I've lived in the Bay for years now. I expect LeBron to take over and make it a series next game. Warriors in 6 though.

Watched the first 2 episodes of 'Band of Brothers' on the firestick. Completely forgot the game was on. Just 8 more episodes to finish the 1 and only season from 2001.

Are you talking about the mini-series Band of Brothers? I don't believe it was it was intended to be anything but a 10 episode mini-series. Loved this series. Really well written, acted, and filmed.

Yep, that's the one. Great mini series and I've been wanting to watch it (again) for some time now.

Yeah, the defense was laughable at times last night.

We could start a thread on any topic in the world and ask what coach cals opinion of it and that would be on the thread topic. "I wonder how coach cal feels about Bowen enrolling in UL classes" "I wonder what coach cals opinion is of the UL Florida St baseball game?"

And those questions would be relevant (although still unimportant) in a thread about Bowen or if he wondered what the UK baseball coach thought about a UofL-FSU baseball. Understand?

It's something to watch. I root for the Cavs but I don't get upset if they lose.

Folks around here love hockey. It's all that's on sports talk radio, all these yinzers tawlking about hawkey. I never knew anyone gave a damn about hockey until I moved here.
