Opening Day!!

Well, he is now 0-2. At least they have not been SOs. You have dudes ready and they need the chance.

Not a good outing by starter and bull pen wasn’t good either. OSU is a really good offensive team.

Not impressed again with the hitting.

Let’s see how tomorrow goes but once again the pitching staff wasn’t competitive. How many times last year did they give up double digits in conference play? A bunch especially on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.

Offensively boy they aren’t much better. See if they are better tomorrow.

Bad feeling he sticking with his assistants is going to burn him.

Baseball such a fickle game. No telling how it plays out down the road, but this is a huge stage for all of the players in this tournament. Some can handle it and some can't. Mac figuring out who this weekend.

Really glad tomorrow is another high caliber opponent. He has to get a better idea going into this long ass home stretch when the level of competition will drop off until league play.
I expect Davis or Early to be at 1st tomorrow, Moore back in and some juggling of that order. As far as the pitching, I think they had a different path if the wheels hadn't fallen off.

What are the odds EKj is back in the lineup? I do NOT dislike the young man. I don’t like the results.

Eddie looks like he'd rather be doing something else. He got passed over last draft. Just doesn't look like he really wants to be here. In years past I think the old Mac would ride it out. Not sure it's gonna happen with talented guys waiting.

Boy Eddie sure gets roasted on here. Folks they scored 7 runs in 2 games. Has anyone been great at the plate?

They weren’t super competitive at the plate either. It isn’t just Eddie. Now should he be at the 4 probably not. He hit .322 last year people want to yank him after 2 games against high level pitching. Saw the ball better yesterday. I doubt Dan moves him out of the lineup maybe down but not out.

I get they will try different guys this weekend. I also know it is a long season. However good staffs don’t give up double digit runs especially on Saturdays. I can see Sunday’s and week nights getting wobbly.

The issue with pitching continues to be they can’t hit spots. Forbes stuff is electric. Everyone else is just OK. They have to work ahead in the count and have to hit spots. If they don’t they get destroyed. Even when they have an advantage they miss.

The only way they are any good this year is pitching. Yesterday was not encouraging, Today maybe we shall see.

EKj - he got hot near the end of the season. He has poor plate discipline- period. I’m sorry, 5 strikeouts is unacceptable - period. Not saying he should never play again. When you have guys in waiting, and you have someone ahead of you shitting the bed and still playing - not a good look.

He's 23 years old. No different than any other sport where underperformers are roasted on these boards. Does Mac wait all season before he tries something different? That's kinda my point. He,like Beard has had 4 years to become the starter in the outfield we need. It's excruciatingly painful for Mac to make the change,but..

I'm confident they're gonna be good. Some of these pitchers might find out the hard way that their roles will diminish if they can't handle the stage.

I thought Detmers looked great for a while. He can go longer I'm sure. He struggled with his breaking ball, and it looked like a hanging curve that dude went yard on that grand slam.
If Detmers gets out of that jam,I think we see a different set of bullpen guys later.

I am super happy for EKj’s performance today. I still would have sat him yesterday; but, I’m not the coach.
