That was bad, evenly bad...but bad none the less. Glad our guys didn't get overly frustrated with the lack of continuity...sometimes ugly wins are the ones that build some confidence, here's hoping that's the case.

I think we played about as well as we could. Maybe we simply aren’t much, if any, better than Pitt?

Man I am so freaking glad to see this thread. I was fuming over the horrible calls ON BOTH TEAMS all game long. I can take a missed call or even a bad call every now and then but when the calls are just horrible for 40 minutes, it makes the game itself very frustrating to watch. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for the coaches and the players. Wow.

It was bad but I’m not sure it was evenly bad. Pitt was getting calls all night. But the last bad call might have evened things. I’ll take the win.

I don’t think it was evenly bad either we had 5 fouls on us in the first 3 minutes of the 2nd half. There were a lot of over the back calls on Pitt that were never called and a lot of tricky tack calls on us the whole game. I think the refs were trying to balance it out at the end by calling walking and fouls on Pitt. They called fouls at the end that they didn’t call the whole game and Pitt didn’t like it.

Guys, they took away a clear bucket from Pitt that would have tied the game. There was absolutely no foul. Hard to gripe about the whistle when the decisive play of the game went our way in a hugely fortuitous way

Never blame the refs, sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't. If Pitt doesn't go the last 5 minutes without a FG, giving up a 7 point lead with 2 minutes left - at home - then none of this matters. That's on Pitt, they can control that and that has nothing to do with bad ref calls. The Cards did what they needed to in order to win a tough conference game on the road and now sit tied for first place with a chance to take sole possession with a win over a team that just lost to Clemson.

Also hard to stay in a game where the other team is in the bonus by the 12 minute timeout due to BS foul calls, as well! Officiating sucked!

If we would have lost, I wouldn't have blamed officiating. I would have blamed ignorant turnovers and not being a man when you have the ball in the paint. Also, missing the front end of two, 1 and 1's when the game is up for grabs!
I wouldn't blame it on the refs either. Not what I was saying in the post above. I was pointing out the refs were really bad regardless of which side you were pulling for. The players made plays and in the end those plays won the game. The refs played a part though and not in a good way. The best refs go unnoticed. The refs last night were center stage.

I think I was really trying to highlight the fact that our guys fought thru the BS and frustration, overcame a late deficit and finished the game. It was hard to watch because of the officials, but our character as a team is maturing a little bit; DJ getting a lot of time, Williamson as well all point to good things.

Totally disagree. Pitt played as well as they can and them some. They threw up some prayers that got answered on several occasions. Our guys fought through an off night by Nworra and showed some real determination down the stretch. Pitt has played well since we beat them here and they are no easy out at their home court. To say we played as well as we could is just not true, in my opinion.

To me, the Pitt guards lived in the lane all night. If we don’t shoot nearly 50 percent from 3 we dont win.
