The Irish are coming off two consecutive losses after being identified as the #1 team in America. While I have no expectation for a UL upset of ND in South Bend today, it could be interesting if Arenas were to have the sort of contribution that she had on Thursday, while we have the sort of team performance that we have not seen all season; specifically where all 7 or 8 players contribute at the same time. Curry, Williams and Roberts are each capable of having the proverbial “A game”; they just need to do it in concert with one another. Harris and Cochran just need to rebound and play defense without fouling, and let the aforementioned be joined by Russell to score the points.

I am not expecting an upset I am hoping for a respectable game but I would love an upset. ND coming off two losses in a row should have ND focused against us. I did watch the 2 games ND lost and they lost because their shots weren’t falling. Hildago herself had some air balls. However that being said ND will probably have bothering best shooting performance of the season.

In our game vs. ND at the YUM this year, we were down 1 at half. We were in a position to beat them but we shoot 30% in the second half with an especially bad 3Q when we were 4-17 FG's
-they killed us on the boards 44-29.
-Liatu King (16 pts, 12 rb) really hurt us. Only 6 ft., but very athletic and we just don't match up with her. Randolph had 10 rbs. for us, maybe she can match up w/King.
-Hidalgo drove at will, hopefully we have improved defensively and can slow her down. She's a brilliant player but gets a friendly whistle, like old school NBA.
-Curry had zero 3 pt attempts.
-We turned them over 23 times, will need similar effort today if we have any chance to win.

Well, nice first qtr. Can’t miss layups - Olivia. Can’t drive the lane out of control- Ja’Leah and Taj. Need to take good shots - several have been rushed. Scary things - UND has already been resting their starters.

Some really dumb TOs. For the life of me I do not understand why so many of our players pick up their dribble at the worst spots.

I love and support all of our players. Yet, Nyla has turned into a walking disaster. I just do not understand what happened to her this year.

Wish Jeff would use Isla and Hardy a little bit. Elif and O just can’t jump. Not that Ilsa is leaper; but, she can bang better than Elif.

Down by 8 at half it could have been worse once Curry went out. We need to stop ND from driving the lane outside of Citron nobody else on ND is hitting anything from out side. I would at least try a zone and see how it works.

We’re not getting to the glass and we’re relying on 3’s which we don’t shoot well. Same ole same ole. Poor turnovers and it would help if Cochran could actually leave Mother Earth more 3”.

Coach won’t do it.

Agree. They are not going to win with the three. Ultimately, they have to score inside and draw fouls. If they can get inside and not throw the ball away, just drop the ball or brick a layup then that could help open shooters on the outside.

It was looking bad to start the 2nd half but then Curry drops two 3 pointers and we are back in the game. We have done a little better on stopping the dribble drive by ND. Let’s hope we can keep that up.

I agree we aren’t really getting much from our inside game. If someone else beside Curry was hitting from outside we could spread out the defense and get more inside shots.

I’m so tired of Cochrans inabilities athletically, it’s killing us because we have zero inside threat

As I’ve stated all year. A good team - not a great team. Too many ‘holes’ to deal with to be a great team.

I guess that 6’6” freshmen did transfer because the announcer just said Louisville has 8 freshmen. We used to have 9 freshmen
Probably just incorrect. She played the other day. She is a RS Fr vs a True FR. Maybe that is what they are saying.

Over how many games will it take for our interior people to learn what type shots they can get off over taller defenders. Show the defender the ball and it will get blocked.

Well it looks like the rout is on unless we can start playing like a team again. It doesn’t look like we are running any offensive sets now

Grace, 6’5” is supposed to be pretty good. I think Hardy can contribute if given a chance. I think he needs a 6’1” - 6’4” rebounder. They need an enforcer down low. Any way, the route is now on. Just too undisciplined on our part.

If I was CJW I would ask my team just don’t quit on me go out and give your all. It is obvious this game is over unless things drastically change. I don’t know what happened to Harris she used to be a strong inside player. She had a really great move to the left that was hard to defend she doesn’t use that to her advantage anymore.

We need to look for a good big in the transfer portal someone who has proven to be worthy of a scholarship. I am sure there are plenty who would transfer to an ACC school with the opportunity to play.
