NCAA Enforcement

No clue what's going on with it all.

Some fans wanted changes but more than likely whatever changes are made won't be satisfying and might actually hurt our programs, steering things back to the chosen ones.

IOW, the schools were always running the NCAA. Now, there's an attempt to control NIL and the portal at the conference leadership level. IOW, put these players back in "their place".... But is that collusion, the courts will probably say yes. Players now have $ to afford attorneys. So these things will be tied in court a long time probably.

That $ flow is cool for the suits but once the players started cutting into the pie that was just no good for higher ups and unfortunately some fans don't quite get how those landscape changes helped our BB team turn it around overnight and the FB team standing being improved too. So you hear slogans like "Wild Wild West" and "Outta control" as now a different part of the population is reaching into the pot of gold that's been sitting there for decades - but nobody cared, until players started hitting the lottery too.

MSM carries the suit torch by emphasizing the "madness" and how something's gotta change. Gotta keep that access to Saban and Kirbys of the world. It's no good for ESPN having players opt out of their bowl season too. It's all a con, always has been.

Sad.

Further evidence of NCAA irrelevance; it will take more time, but I can foresee the time when the NCAA is absorbed by the Power Conferences.

If not superseded entirely by the power conferences, which I think is at hand. All that seems to be left for the NCAA are the mid-majors, Division I, II and III. A sad time for college athletics.

The writing is on the wall. I saw an article from CBS where a CSC is creating options to allow conferences to kick schools out if they break rules. Why invest as a fan on something where powers can simply unplug you or just kick you out? They aren't going to treat all programs the same.

It's turned into background music. I'll put the TV on it while I'm doing other things. Really. Good luck everybody.
