I picked Houston to win in my bracket and didn't want to see an SEC team win at all. However, after the Sampson slight, after Duke gave the game away, I couldn't care less.
I would like to see Huston, just for the fact that everybody was counting them dead vs. Duke. Me included, That was one epic meltdown by Duke and Huston, to their credit, was able to take advantage of it.
Gotta say that was a hell of a game. However, unfortunately, I think the refs swing momentum. At about -12:00 or something - UF committed a foul and places Houston in the bonus and Houston had 2 fouls. Over the next 3-4 minutes the refs called 5 fouls on Houston. Some were certainly fouls others were very questionable. It totally swung momentum into UF’s favor. With that being said, UF’s passing game really picked up and they worked hard getting to the rim. Bith teams were fantastic and very athletic.
Houston committed 2 costly turnovers in a row right towards the end of the game. They were so good taking care of the ball all night and stubbed their toe twice right before that last possession. Damn shame.
I am no ta fan of the refs basically calling nothing in the first half and then going over the top calling fouls in the second. I saw that approach in the tournament multiple times. I told my wife at half time, watch how many fouls they call in the second half and they proved me right. At the 17 minute mark they had called 19 fouls and they weren't finished.
