They have gotten rocked in ACC play. Their only P5 win is 16-10 over Syracuse. Their other wins are over Western Carolina, Ball St and East Carolina. They lost Finley and Samuels to the draft plus some strong d linemen.

Let’s do the recruiting rankings comparison for this one, like we did after-the-fact with Miami:
2015: NCST 35, UofL 32
2016: NCST 43, UofL 36
2017: NCST 53, UofL 29
2018: NC ST 34, UofL 31
2019: NC ST 28, UofL 77
Average: NC ST 33.2, UofL 41.0
interesting that UofL outrecruited NC State 4 out of 5 years, but because of our very small 2019 class NC State has a better average class ranking.
What I do think this shows is that this should be a highly competitive game, and that we should be impressed with Coach Satterfield and this staff if we can go into Raleigh and get the win.
