We left eastern Jeff. County (near Ganders) at 10:15. Traffic was slow until we passed the beginning of construction near Shelbyville. Exited I-64 at Griffin Gate to Broadway. Very slow from that point to near the arena. Started to look for parking. Long story/short, it took ONE hour to find a spot at Transylvania, approx. 1 mile away. By the time we got to the arena, I was about to bust. Waited in line for the restroom for about 25 min. 4 urinals and 2 stalls. As you were in line parallel to the wall, there was a guy selling beer out of a couple of cases. People had to go through the line to get the beer. When I found my seat, we were down big about 18 min remaining in the game. They do have a new scoreboard, but no place for other scores to be posted. The hallways are very narrow compared to the YUM.
Between the sessions we looked to eat. Unbelievably some places were closed.
I could go on, but one last thing; we sat perpendicular to the court looking toward the band. When you looked to the other end of the court, you couldn’t see all of the. What a dump.

Corrupt Arena was built for one reason, it wanted to be the biggest, and in so doing, it sacrificed everything else. All UK wanted was large attendance numbers.

Back in the day, my business interest included Eastern KY (coal) and I ended up meeting a lot of huge UK supporters, one of which was connected to Dawhares in Lexington. At the time, that clothing store was given priority for all season tickets that required donations; all of which were delivered to Joe B Hall, as a way to provide recruiting dollars for players. I held my nose while obtaining those season tickets for our clients who were UK fans. On one occasion, I had to host a client to one of those games when Barkley (Auburn won) was playing. At Freedom Hall, I was accustomed to being seated down close to the floor, but the tickets we had at UK (admittedly “nose bleeds”), were so bad that even my UK guest questioned why UK would built an arena where the view was so bad for most of the audience? I never returned.
