My apologies, but... Can't help but think of next year

I know I should be exclusively living in the moment today, but it's become too obvious not to address -

This team is really good. Right now. This year. However...

Only losing Mango and Levitch. Everyone else is back as no one is projected on any draft boards. This team is scary good next year with a seasoned group adding another year of physical and mental maturity.

Let's enjoy the ride this year, but the next two post season runs should be special!

Hicks will be gone too. But the guard rotation should be pretty good next year. We will be deep down low. So many bigs next year.

Yes it is promising. I do think if Deng continues to show improvement and play like he did vs UK, then he may move up the rankings and have a chance to go pro but even if he did we will have VJ to take his place.

I hope VJ doesn't have that transferring option in the back of his head. I think Pitino needs to play him more. He's obviously a great player just needs more confidence. He doesn't hesitate to shoot the ball when he comes in and I think that's a good thing. I guess the only reason why he didnt play much last night was defense. I look and hope he gets more PT over the next few games and rest of the season. He has played a lot though in previous games. I could just be the only on nervous about that.

I would doubt that he would transfer regardless, that would mean delaying his opportunity to make a jump the NBA after his junior year and he would have to sit out a year and learn a whole new system. His time will come, he is too good to sit all year. I too wanted him to grab the lion's share of time over Deng but last night made it obvious that he isn't quite where Deng is. I think they need to get them in the game together more where Deng is filling in at the two spot.

I would like to see a little more of Adel and King on the court at the same time.

I would be surprised to see VJ go anywhere. He seems like a really good kid.

The moment seemed a little too big for VJ last night in my opinion and that appears to be why Pitino did not play him much. I think Pitino wants to play him more, but wants to bring him along his way.

Pitino plays the long game. We should know this by now. It's very important for VJ to do the little things that we do not see that Pitino is asking of him.

I do think by season end he will be a solid contributor getting crucial minutes. He will be fine.

I cannot even begin to think about next year when you consider what they could do this year. As I said in another thread, this team could and should be undefeated. A top 3 or 5 team.

I hope last night opened some of our fans eyes. This team with their depth and length could be really good this year. I am anxious to see how they handle these next 3 games and the remaining ACC schedule.
