The Cards have a gem of game this weekend against the Kent State Golden Flashes.

The Cards are favored by as much as -44 points.

This is not a fun one to talk about, but it 'should' be therapy for the Cards.

Some would say we learn nothing from this game. I would argue that we will learn several things about this team from this game. If this one ends 42 - 31 or something like that.... well.

I think we learn a lot about the character of this team in this game. How do they respond?

Other than an obvious win, what needs to happen in this game or be the outcome for you start feeling good or better about this team?

A shutout? Hold the Golden Flashes to less than 14 points and/or less than 200 total yards of offense? Cards score 70 and have over 600 yards of total offense? Pass gets some run?

Are you in the we learn nothing from this game camp?

Scouting Report on KSU: They Suck.

Not sure we are going to learn a whole lot but I do think it's a good time (and with Murray up next week) to refocus and get ourselves ready to make each game count from here on out.

Chad Leftwich-Pennington III would be a great name for an English Lord. Or an English butler.

Their QB just suffered a season ending injury. So they are starting a redshirt freshman. Hopefully this kid isnt the second coming of Ben Rothlisberger, Byron Leftwich or Chad Pennington.
BU QB's have not been good for us.

How would you like to see the next LJ emerge (Pat White?) before your eyes!

I think the back up QB is like 5'9". IIRC they played him most of the game against Clemson. I don't think they threw a pass until the 2nd half. Even then, they only threw the ball like 3-4 times. They are awful. It should be a 4-5 TD game by the end of the first quarter.

As others have said, I hope for no injuries. In a game like this, that is all that really matters as the actual game is a joke.

Kentucky is getting atta boyed for beating three teams like this....

I am looking forward to seeing Puma Pass since he is our future.
We should have seen about 12 minutes of him last week.

I have no clue what CBP was trying to prove.

In fact, I think he looked downright bush league leaving LJ in there.

I'm skeptical of the Cards covering the -44. Petrino is wanting to work in some young guys, the defense is a weakness, and, you know, there's that whole hangover thing after getting humbled. I wouldn't be shocked if the Cards came out a little sluggish.

Yeah, I'm skeptical of that line as well. I do not think the Cards will cover.

I want to see Pass play! I believe we come out mad and up 40 at the half. I want to see some young guys play. The offensive line has been good so far. I hope that we work on the running game and if Wilson is ready get him in the game. I would prefer to not see Lamar run unless absolutely necessary. I would love to see Bonnafon throw the ball off a handoff. I would like to see Dorsey and Petterson get to play. Is Gary McCrae still with the team? Would like to see Averritt get in at TE. Nice wish list, huh

Petrino specifically mentioned Averitt and Yeast need to get up to speed "sooner than later" in his press conference on Monday. I think it is a good chance we will see them play plenty.
