Mississippi State vs. NCAA

https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...-10-football-players-and-a-basketball-player/

Obviously, Mississippi State didn’t use the UNC-Chapel Hill academic model...

WOW, and I thought the NCAA had decided that “academic fraud” wasn’t in their playbook. Oh, yeah, that’s true only if “regular students” are involved. Soooooo, the best thing to do is to get the regular student body involved in getting help from a tutor. OR just hire the obviously very competent and expensive UNC lawyers to send the NCAA running into the night. What a load of crappola. There goes a bunch more of any credibility and/or legitimacy the NCAA has, or had. I’m hereby suggesting that AD Tyra hire the exact same set of attorneys that UNC hired. If that happens we’ll all be able to hear the wailing coming from Indy.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

The penalties are pretty mild. $5K penalty plus about $60K from men’s b-ball budget, and $230k from football budget (1% of each). 83 scholarships in football for 2 years instead of 85, and 12 in hoops instead of 13. Slight reduction in recruiting visits and opportunities.

They do have to vacate wins. I wonder if one will be their football bowl win or their NIT win over us from 2017-18?

Sign me up immediately for that same level of punishment for the FBI/Adidas/Bowen mess. Loss of 1 scholarship for 2 seasons, vacation of all wins that Bowen played in for us (none), and $223k fine. Reduced recruiting opportunities and visits. A 10-year show cause for Pitino would grab some serious headlines....

As a UK fan, I’ve obviously got no love lost for Louisville but unless and until the NCAA does something to UNCheat, you guys, Mississippi State, and everyone else needs to tell them “nope, stick it up your ass” whenever they come out with this crap. UNCheat with the biggest scandal in the last 50 years and the NCAA looks the other way.
