Louisville vs. IU, a natural because of the Payne-Woodson friendship. But patience, please.

"I’ve had the opportunity to talk to Kenny and (Louisville interim athletic director Josh Heird) and he promised me something in two years," Woodson said Wednesday before he spoke to a sold-out crowd of 975 people at an IU Varsity Club dinner at Huber’s Winery.

"Once Kenny got up and going, we could possibly get a game going in a couple of years. I’ll take that all day long because I know it would be a competitive game."

Personally I’d love to have IU on UofL schedule. I’d also like to have Cincinnati & Memphis to renew those 2 old rivalries would be great IMO.

Would like to see Cincy and Memphis on the schedule too. Kind of indifferent about IU. It would be nice to see some new matchups too.

Cincinnati and Memphis left us for dead in the Metro so I don't really have a strong preference for bailing out their programs. I'd rather find new rivalries.
I can see your point, but when I think of rivalries UK, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Marquette come to mind

In my opinion, I honestly don't understand the continued fascination with playing Cincy and Memphis. Hello...it's a new world, and those two old rivals don't benefit UofL in the least; but we benefit them greatly. UofL needs to start scheduling the likes of UCLA, Kansas, or Gonzaga to name a few. I'm tried of these boring azz, piss-poor OOC games, where we might play someone of note, only if it's a multi-team event. UofL needs to get back on the national stage with huge matchups. Like the days of Crum, playing anybody, anywhere, anytime...

IU may very well be the BIG favorite in 22-23 season. I expect the series will resume with the Hoosiers in the near future.

UC is a short and reasonable trip, but I cannot say the same about ever returning to Memphis.

Please don’t schedule Memphis their fan base is like West Virginia’s fan base “redkneck”. I also agree they gain from it a lot more than we gain from it. I like the idea of scheduling marquee matchups like the years under Denny Crum.
