Miami HC Jim Larranaga Stepping Dowm

they hit the transfer portal perfectly two years ago and then just collapsed. it's now the essence of sports. riding the roller coaster from year to year

It's gotta be super difficult to be an HC nowadays. Like you said, you miss in the portal or have good players just leave for greener pastures and your season is toast.

At 75 there is no reason for him to deal with this NCAA chit show.

Coaches sign contracts. So when a kid or kids transfer out and you miss on getting some in,….coach still gets paid. Fire him and he get paid. (Ask UofL)

So it’s a lose lose prop for schools. Lose money on the player and lose money on the coach.

One day these pointy headed “academics” who are running these schools will figure out that they need to just say NO, and get a grip on the portal and NIL.

To somebody.

Coaching is definitely a young man's game these days. I doubt any coaches are going to last over 10 years under the current structure with NIL and the Portal.

For a young person it’s like legal stealing.

Sign for 2-3 million, invest wisely, and be set for life, win or lose.

No downside IMO
i agree. have never been sad when a coach is fired because they still get paid their contract or buyout. jimbo fisher living off $76,000,000 not a bad way to get fired

After making a Final 4 and having successfully at George Mason he chose to come to
Miami to do the same thing he’s mad at his players for doing after their Final 4 run. The hypocrisy is crazy 😂

I’m old enough to remember when Coach Larranaga hit the transfer portal after taking George Mason to the Final 4. Of course that led to Luke Hancock becoming a Card.
