I am coming in late to the party on this thread. Doctor stuff etc and life.
IRT the flu issue just taking Vit-C alone is not enough to combat the flu...use zinc and Elderbery with it and start early with first signs of feeling the onset of the bug works wonders.
IRT to the game...VT is and has always been a tough nut to crack on their home court....they were/are fighting for a spot in the ACC tournament so they had nothing to lose...after the sad/bad start they played with their hair on fire and very physical especially in the 2nd half on Chucky. He was being mugged evey time he tried to drive in the paint. A lot of grabbing, holding and pushing was going on.
To their credit, the Refs, IMO called it fairly both ways...VT got hot and starting hitting almost all of their 3 point attempts about 5 minutes into the 2nd half. As much as I dislike Jim B....he pretty much nailed it in his comments and analysis of the flow of the game....good and bad he was astutely honest about the Cards play.
Take away the 3 from Reyne, foul the heck out of Chucky and push the players around in the paint...that was the Hokie MO and they likely played their best game (vice the TO's) of the year for them. It was timely that Edwards hit his 2 three pointers when he did or the Cards may not have survived the Hokie kamakazee defense.
In conclusion....Winning an ACC road game at this time of year is hard no matter who they are or what their record is...hats off to the Hokies for not folding after their first bad 10 minutes of the game, and fighting the Cards tooth and nail down the strech, making the Cards earn a hard fought W. Survive and move on home.
Come home, heal up, learn and move on. Next!
