Matz Stockman should be the starting Center for this team and it is not even close. He is the only big man that can score the ball with his back to the basket. Solid free throw shooter and has been rebounding the ball and NOT falling down like our other bigs.

Slow your roll.
Stockman has 7 inches on GCU. He should dominate.
Mangok just had a 11 and 6 game.
Anas couldn't travel.
Matz looks good so far, but that guarantees nothing in the future.

Regardless of height Matz is balling! He has a post game that the other post players don't seem to have. Mango plays with energy but had zero offensive game. I'm not saying he should start but it looks like he could use a little more burn!

It is 5 more fouls.Tbs,our frontcourt guys need to assert themselves as enforcers in the paint. No freebies,no phantom charge attempts.Swat everything, foul or not.

This must be the first game you've seen this year. Matz should be dominating with his size in this game.

Man we just aren't very good

If Matz is our guy we better move to the Great Lakes Conference with Bellarmine. Grand Canyon D-II or OVC size post players. Cool the jets on the Matz to the NBA mindset!

I would rather have Matz than Johnson, Mathiang, or Adel neither of those three would start for moore high school. They are piss poor.

This is an NIT year. I may get flak for saying it, but we are an NIT team.

Matz picked up the team in the 1st half. Let's not get carried away though. If he was put into the role you're wishing for he'd be in foul trouble trying to cover guys and wouldn't be in position to contribute like he did tonight.

He's a fine role player that can help out when the match-up is good for him, like when the opponent is pumping 6-6 unathletic front courts like the one he faced tonight.

all jokes aside, he needs more clock because he is the ONLY guy we have that can back a man down and shoot, or pass out of it when the double comes. He is an asset for this team.

No

Matz looked ok last night and everyone is obviously open to have their own opinion.

You have to look at players and what they bring in their totality. Matz would get eaten alive out there in several facets of the game.

He will get his moments and have opportunities to contribute for sure.

Not intended to beat up on Matz or other posters.

Matz did great out there last night. With Anas out, he was needed to step up and he did. He does appear to have the smoothest post moves out of all our centers but you have to take into account the competition as well. I'm not trying to take away anything from Matz either because honestly ask your self this question:

Would you rather see one of our players struggle against over-matched competition or flourish against it?

I think we all know the answer to that. If only we could combine our centers together into a fusion combining Matz's bulk and post movies, Mangok's strength/athleticism and rebounding, and Anas's quickness, length, shot blocking, and BB IQ together. Call him Mangok Stockmoud.
