Let's see..chronologically...CRP testifies under oath in Federal court (that's fact), that he banged Scifres and shot in less than 15 seconds or so (would've benched a player for shooting that quickly), Jurich added a qualifier to his contract stating (and it's a simplification) that if CRP has any additional behvior as Coach that embarrasses or impugns the good reputation of UL in the future that it is a dismissable offense. Then we have the sex scandal that the NCAA has found CRP in negligence of and is going to hammer us and has brought more shame to our brand then CRP has the current alleged embarrasment and at no time did Jurch enforce his own qualifier or contract so the BOT did. And they are the bad guys. Ironic isn't it? The BOT used that as part of the "cause" to dismiss both. Denny may have quit recruiting his last 10 years or so but he never had any major scandals, took us to twice as many Final Fours and won twice as many championships and Jurcih couldn't wait to run him off. Don't give me that I'm a UK troll bs I've been a crunch zone ticket holder since 1985 and attend as many basketball and baseball games as possible and have been diehard Cards since the 70's.

I just love people who keep bringing up Denny. Good god man that’s history. If it wasn’t Rick it would have been someone else that took his place. Some people don’t know when it’s time to move on. And Denny is one of those guys. Respect the heck out of him but nothing last forever. Get over it!
I’m not going to defend Rick because it was also time for him to go, but the NCCA stated in the Katrina deal that Rick did not know. So you can debate all day long that TJ should have fired him and just as many people would have argued that he shouldn’t have been fired. TJ had no business being removed and you’ll see why in the future. But we will live with that and move on. The bigger question is why do we have four UK grads on our BOT and a egotistical old fart in Grissom? I’ll ask that again wonder why we have four UK grads on our board? Will all know sooner than later.
You reek of bitterness of how Denny was let go and that is bad because one has nothing to do with the other. And it serves no purpose in moving UofL forward. That’s old news.
I absolutely love what Denny did for UofL but he didn’t inherit an empty nest when he got here. He was a masterful coach and that is what he should remembered for. And you are wrong about no scandals during his last 10 years. WE did have an NCAA sanction against us and our academic graduation rate for basketball was beyond abysmal. If you really want to argue that then you just don’t know what you think you know. Tom Jurich wanted to have Denny celebrated around our schedule but he fought that and even “called” on his supporters to have Tom Jurich fired and guess what, those supporters told Denny to retire and move on. The University (Dr. Shumakier) did the $7 million dollar deal for Denny’s retirement. Denny’s day had come and gone when he left coaching.
