He's just a much better player than Mathiang.

Mangok is a good leader and can help this team in a more limited role.

I'm hoping Mahmoud is just getting started.

Agree. Mangok is a good enforcer/defender at times like when he bodied up Bam but he has scored 1 point total in the last four games. I think he has to come off the bench at this point as Anas is just better and can do more.

Today's starting line up is what we need going forward. Donovan was stellar off the bench, Mango brought a lot of energy and Mahmoud was terrific as a starter. I believe VJ will do more as a starter in the weeks ahead.

I think you will see DM back in the starting lineup. I think he got the message. However, I do think Mahmoud has earned his way in the starting lineup and bring Mango off the bench. He's usually toast after 2 fouls anyway.

Love this young man.Mango's ok,he'll still contribute. He's just not as polished as Anas at either end.Mango will have huge games going forward. We'll need contributions from all.

Mathiang's contributions are in leadership. He's the old man on the team and I think the guys admire him.

Bottom line, he doesn't do nearly enough to play more than Mahmoud, and this move may have happened sooner if not for Mahmoud's injury.

Doesn't matter who starts, just need Anas and Mangok to contribute.

Anas was the man today.

Mangok is valuable other than scoring. He completely shut down Bam in the UK game. No one else could do it. He postered Anas, Spalding and Johnson.

Points aren't the only consideration when looking at a player. Have to go with the matchup. When strength is required, no one on the roster can beat Mangok.

After getting to watch the whole game back on DVR I have to say I was very pleased with Mahmoud's performance. His basketball IQ is very good and he usually makes the smart basketball play. He can be a game changer out there as even when he didn't get the block, he had IU players looking over their shoulders and flubbing what should've been easy shots at the rim.

Mangok has a few positives but right now I think Mahmoud should get the lion's share of the minutes at center. He's earned it.

I have been very critical of Anas, but it is clear he is our best offensive big. I would like to see him improve in strength in holding on to the ball and ability to back players down but that just won't happen. We will have to settle. He needs to stop putting the ball on the floor in the middle of the paint though unless his back is to the defender. Got stripped by a guard today and could have easily just turned and gone up with it.

Anas has always been and will continue to be the best overall C on the team. He just really showed it in a big way yesterday.

He just has a better overall understanding (IQ) of the game.

Will still need Mango down the stretch no doubt.

I agree about Anas. It looks to be an easy decision for Pitino to make. Even if he doesn't start, he'll play more minutes than any of the other Center position players. He's the best option at the 5.
