Seems to be some serious doubts being cast on Twitter as to whether Coach Mack will be back after this year or even after his 6 game suspension. Inquiring minds want to know what those with sources are hearing.

Seems to be some smoke with this fire. The program is going to get hammered and his minor violations will cause major headaches when UofL is trying to argue for leniency. His taping of the Gaudio shake down has caused all sorts of problems. I think Tyra and Mack both on very thin ice.

It’s all so ugly. I won’t even repeat what I’ve read. One heartache after another.

I thought you were in the know ?

;) Not even close. I have a Twitter account, that is the full extent of my inside sources.
However...I am of the understanding that this rumor originated from none other than our own Rivals pay board (which I have no access to) and from one of our own moderators. Can one of our mods or posters with pay board access confirm or deny that...umm...rumor? 😁

I'm just relaying the message but there definitely appears to be some things going on. Not sure what changed post 6 game ban as the information that came out Friday was evidently a known at that point.

As soon as that tape of Dino got released I assumed he was on a hot seat.

It's hard to know if Twitter is putting out inside info or if it is rumor/guessing going on between knowledgeable fans/insiders.

I'm on the pay board and this did come out over there but wasn't said as fact. It was said they had heard rumblings of it. Later on they said Vince came out and said Mack was our coach now and was going to be for a long time. So I guess make of it what you will..

More folks with contacts on the pay board are hearing/feeling bad vibes about things besides Ty Spalding.
Ty Spalding BTW is the owner of this board. Ty is not a rumor/gossip media/Louisville hater social media type person, at all!!

Bad Vibes may as well be the nickname of our basketball program. Been that way since the Sypher scandal...followed by "what the hell is going to come out next?"

It's not just UofL, it's the name Louisville. IMO, they are one in the same. :( You are blessed to live yonder.

People are talking about how the 247 guys are shooting it down, but those guys are homers in a sense they pump up more than report the bad stuff. But even people over there on the inside are hearing similar things.

But it is simple, if he wins he will stay. No more NITs. No more losing to Minnesota in the first round. It's year 4 and he has his roster and a good one. He's recruited well. It's time to step up.

I don't think this is at the core of the issue but I'm not following the rumors like others.

Hard to ask for leniency and expect to get it when you didn’t fire the guy who was cheating while you were on probation for more cheating and also while waiting for a ruling for even more cheating.

Sigh.

It's already been proven we will not get leniency from the NCAA for taking drastic measures to prevent a reoccurrence (at least by the same offender), but your point is a valid one.

I totally get the admins pov on this matter. And i'm pissed and sick too my stomach that Mack put himself and the school in this position. One thing i will say yes punishment is needed . However even the remote talk whether small or not about firing him his downright stupid. For alot of reasons wouldn't be fair to those kids foremost, fans, local economy that school athletic department 's BB puts alot of money in local business. Not too mention as far as i've read about Mack he has never been in any NCAA trouble. And most coaches not all but just about every successful one has been in trouble or at least linked to nefarious things over their careers. These guys are playing high stakes BB we talking millions and you think they or yourself could navigate those shark waters and not get blood on your hands at some point?

He deserves a second chance just as all coaches who screw up. Some more than twice. If this school let's him go they will destroyed everything that has been built over decades. And some of you will disagree as it's your right . But i will bet my money this school's BB program will go into obscurity for years. Maybe this is the plan all along i truly believe it is. Those that want Mack gone i hope you the best with this program because your not going to get anyone your thinking about.

And if this idiot admin or board (who i think is behind all this). By giving up a blood sacrifice too the NCAA Mack. is Going too mitigate any thing they are truly delusional. Your going to get ban or bans regardless with or without him . And don't be surprised if he has the season i expect that other schools will now have a shot at him . And he be a fool not too leave. Then watch how stupid our school is going too look. We will have to hire a much less coach . Watch and see!

It’s not at the core, but it’s a big factor.

Mack was brought in solely for stability and to keep us going. And he’s young and had the ability to maybe grow into being a top coach.

He had some challenges like year 1 not having time to bring any recruits, year 2 the NCAA being cancelled, and last year losing so much time to COVID. But he’s also not been a super big winner.

We could ignore it all because we know this is an uphill battle and he needed to keep our roster stable and our program clean. Ride out some sanctions and uncertainty, then see what he’s got.

But, if he couldn’t keep us out of trouble and has created a cloud, then the patience is gone. Rick could stay because he was elite and kept us in constant title contention. TJ held on because he built our department into a powerhouse. But, Mack doesn’t have that goodwill.

I think there’s more that happened that hasn’t come out yet. He’s done more that Tyra and Neeli are PO’d about and it’s more serious than we think.

Dino fiasco put Mack at risk, in the cross hairs, however you wanna call it..and that is the core issue, I think.

Given what the program was staring down, zero tolerance for any missteps seemed to go without saying. It is possible brass hasn't decided how to handle this even though it's no longer a new story. They may still be investigating it, I haven't followed it.

Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised if he was let go or allowed to stay on. I think any decision on that will have little to nothing to do with his Ws vs Ls. His results aren't that bad given what he walked into but I just don't think any of that factors into his immediate fate.

Wow!!! I can’t believe so many on here believe using coaches for practice since we had players out with Covid is so egregious. To me the bad thing was that Dino was being let go because he wasn’t helping the program become better so he tries to extort money. Then he walks free after committing a crime and his only penalty will be that no one will ever hire him again as a coach. If we fire Mack ( which I am very much against it ) then we should also fire the school president. Mainly because it happened under her watch, besides it’s not like she has done a good job. She talks the talk but can’t walk the walk, how much money has she raised from donors compared to the last administration?

Gotta say…don’t know about the pay board, but Mr. Spalding is taking a TON of heat on Twitter over the alleged rumors.

Yell theirs ones that you really have to shake your head at from him. Which he doesn't have up now but screen shotting in todays world it never disappears.

The thing is no secret at present within U of L are people that do not want Mack for whatever reason's whether personal or professional. And certain ones with a voice are the ones gaslighting . And they are using their personal contacts within media to get their agenda out their. And the owner of this site rather intentional or not is and has been used to further this .

This is just an example of why this school is doomed we have too many people that claim to be U of L supporters but are constantly doing it more harm.

Thought i would never say this but i can't wait to read what and who Matt Jones throws under the bus at U of L for this rumor mill. Because he always knows our business and these U of L media folks are just going to he said she said it.

Sorry don’t agree with your logic. The fact that the President is so upset with so mild an infraction as some here are willing to overlook, tells me it’s more about the university perception not on furthering our basketball tradition. We are an academic institution after all.

I agree with most of this but he’s not young. He’s a year older than Cronin.

Problem is they are his words so they are not BS tits

LOL gonna defend himself by going on CAT /KSR West 680 3pm Sweeny and Streble really?
He’s taking a ton of heat on Twitter for that decision as well. I’m not seeing any local Louisville media guys supporting him or backing up his rumors either. He seems to be on an island on this right now. Feel bad for the guy.
