Mack has Covid

Well we only have 6 players at this time available too play and this Va Tech game i would guess is not going to be payed either. This season is just what it is a mess . Team hasn't practiced as of today since last Tuesday. They can only shoot around in pairs just cant see anything positive to hang your hat on going forward. It's a fact and data driven so far that these layoffs are not good and teams are just not the same after them.

I hope Mack and the players get thru this quickly. May this be the last of covid sucks for the Cards!

This is twice that we’ve been hit hard, why couldn’t we do a 48 hour deal like Kentucky?

btw, I am kidding, everyone knows that Kentucky didn’t want to play Texas. 😅

Tossing out COVID to make a point - that level of elite fitness leaves quickly. These guys are goin to be very out of shape when practice/games resume. Heck, I remember when I ran high school track, if we had a track meet on Monday our times would be slower from the weekend layoff. We'd perform the best if we had a high intensity workout on Monday, an easier day on Tuesday, and meet on Wednesday. I can't imagine being a D1 basketball player and not practicing for 1, 2, 3 weeks.

Gaudio stated on Bobs show he was just watching the few guys shoot and he could se they were out of shape /rythm and form already . We just cannot buy any luck

I don’t buy that. If these guys are out of shape after missing a couple of games, then they were never in shape. Unless we are talking players who suffered from Covid symptoms. (Of course we know young people have little or no effects from Covid. At least that’s what I heard). ;-)

Gaudio stated today they only were able to do individual instruction with what few they have . And cant or have enough to conduct a full practice This is really going to derail this team,

I'm not actually suggesting it, but maybe Mack should have a COVID party and get all these bros together, get infected, play XBox for a week and move on so they are all immune for the March run.

March Madness is going to be crazy. Lots of forfeits. Imagine winning the title because your opponent has positive tests on the morning of the game and has to forfeit! I bet they delay the game in that scenario, but leading up to the Final Four how can you delay games? Going to be crazy.

With this second exposure, we have to be close to that at this point......

As far back as June 2020, I was on the Premium site advancing the Sweden model, which essentially follows "herd mentality". While I never suggested including the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions, I remain convinced that for healthy young men and women playing college basketball, it would be the most practical approach to overcoming these obstacles. At 71, I tested positive for Covid in mid November with very mild symptoms, but serious fatigue that lasted 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for making this post. It helped me to set my expectations for today's game.

I'm a pretty healthy guy, I lift weights and I do cardio. I don't compete or anything, I just try to stay healthy and keep my wife happy when she looks at me. Anyway, I got the flu a few years ago, first time ever. It was unbelievable how bad I felt. First day of bad symptoms, I went to bed at 6pm and didn't get up to eat, drink, urinate or anything until noon the next day. I gradually recovered over the next week.

When all symptoms were gone I went to the gym again. MAN, it was unbelievable how weak I was, how little endurance I had. I remember laying down on the dirty floor where people walk! LOL. It was insane. Again I say I can't imagine competing at an elite college basketball level after something like that. That's what we saw tonight and I'm not going to overreact to it.

Just being realistic. The good news is that muscle memory is real (especially among young, elite athletes) and they'll get back in shape very quickly. Just like they did after Wisconsin. Hopefully there's herd immunity within the team now and they don't have to deal with this anymore.

We really have no clue what has gone on for 3 weeks with these young men. Mack had dark circles under his eyes like he had been thru hell. Now was that covid sick himself or what his players had been thru? Or both?

Did you know Louisville asked NC to delay game until Sunday and NC denied that request. Mack probably wanted one day of practice with a full team instead of only in pairs.

Really, they didn't even have one full team practice? Well no wonder they crapped the bed tonight. They haven't played/practice as a team in 20 days.

I heard about the practices in pairs. One guy at one end of the court, another guy at the other end, shooting alone at the basket with a coach working with each from several feet away. They may as well have been at the State Fair playing that game where you win a fuzzy bear or whatever for shooting baskets.

Seriously folks need to get a grip about this loss.

Yeah Mack had Covid himself.

ESPN announcers doing Aub/LSU game had big discussion about the whole ordeal. Our guys tried to come kicking their a$$ over it but there just wasn’t anything in the tank after that.
