LPT v. Florida...

I know you guys love to rip on the SEC (and its definitely deserved,) but how about the Big 12? I'm sorry, but if a team wins a conference for 13 straight years, it's a crappy conference.
Over the last five years, that's a valid observation based on NCAA performance. Last year, however, the Big XII had three teams in the Sweet 16 and two in the Elite Eight.

One year's data are not a trend. But the Big XII had the next-best showing compared to the ACC in the 2016 tourney...

Historically the B12 ranks 5th in tournament appearances with 240 while SEC is 3rd with 264. Of course ACC is 1st. That's just current members of the conference. Aside from last year as you already said, even with the 240 teams they have got in the tourney they have underperformed. The last team to make it to the final was Kansas in '12 who lost to us. Before that it was OU in '88. Of course Kansas won it in '08 but I'm talking about the conf. in general not one team. The SEC has had UK's runs of course then UF in '07 and '06. And Arkansas in '94 and winning it in '95. That's just looking at the numbers for the final games and looking at nothing else. The SEC has out performed the B12 in regards to the tournament. So as john said, if you're gonna rip the SEC for being awful you have to look at the B12 because we aren't the worst P5 conf If you look at tourn performance over the years. I would say most SEC teams over perform in the tournament. UF, UT, have made some noise a couple years back. Outside of KU who usually gets smoked by Jtown community college the B12 hadn't done anything. But it's hard to compare 2 different conferences like this because of all the different variables and ways to measure the data. Is the SEC better than the ACC? Nope. Better than B12? Yea I'd say so.

C'mon zipp, only titles matter - everyone but Nova and the BE had a bad year last season.

"Historically" dinosaurs roamed the Earth too. Going back and counting all-time NCAA appearances is in the same range of relevance as SEC championships.

Over the last FIVE YEARS, the SEC and Big XII are faring about the same in the postseason. 15% of the 40 Elite Eight teams during that time frame have been from the SEC vs. 10% from the Big XII. 12.5% of the 80 Sweet Sixteen teams have been from Big XII over the last five years vs. 10% from the SEC. (BTW, the percentages for the ACC are, respectively, 32.5% and 26.25%.)

I'm not defending the Big XII except for that last data point; should that continue, the "equal" argument will be in question. If you wanna be seen as the same level as the Big XII, knock yourself out. Both conferences are essentially Snow White and the dwarfs, and they deserve little respect in the world of college basketball.

I'm not even sure the Big XII will be here a decade from now. You may want to strive for a higher goal as a conference.

"Elite program," my a$$...

Based on where things stand at 10:19 PM on 2-28-17, it looks more like the Florida result is best described as #2.

Boy what a terrible start. No excuse to get down by 19 points to Vandy. We could have easily folded, so I will take the 63-37 pounding we put on them the last 30 minutes of the game.
