LOUISVILLE VS FLORIDA STATE GAME THREAD- NOON THE CW

They just said that the flu has been going around the Louisville basketball team. I hate that I hope that it doesn’t affect us too much.

From a personal stand point I had the flu earlier and it is really bad. I have had the flu almost every year and the strand that is going around this year is the worst I have ever had.

Hepburn doesn’t need to drive under the basket and go against a 6’10” defender. We are trying to go to much one on one instead of passing the ball around and finding the open man. I haven’t seen any ally oops to our bigs.

We absolutely won't be able to play this type of one on one against better teams. I'd much prefer to see 20 assists as opposed to what I'm watching 👀

I just think the FSU defense bothered us early and it caused us to get away from our game. Then we started to go one on one it was a challenge and we were able to overcome it. It wasn’t pretty and hopefully the challenge will help us.

Hepburn's drive to the basket is to draw fouls and send him to the line for Ft's, money in the bank!

Looked pretty evident to me Kelsey wanted the one on one post move offense. FSU is a much taller team and that takes away most of the lob plays to Scott.

It was on defense where for me, the Cards had no answer. Once FSU got confident, they pretty much dribble drived their way to baskets. Kelsey not having a changeup defense like a zone, allowed FSU to continue scoring at will.

I think this is what we will see in the NCAA tournament against top level teams with height. FSU had a game plan to make this a physical game and it almost worked.

I also thought this crew of referees were not qualified for this caliber of game. There were a lot of ghost calls where a foul was called but the replay showed no contact. Why wasn’t Leonard Hamilton called for a technical or even warned to get off the court? Early in the game an FSU player pushed Terrance Edwards in the back and then taunted him. The ref was standing right there but instead of calling a foul he got between the 2 players to make sure it didn’t escalate.

I agree Hepburn drives the lane to draw fouls and he is good at it. He has also been able to go up against bigger players underneath. There were several times where he went to deep and then got sandwiched between 2 bigs. My biggest concern for this team is not a lot of depth. When we play tournament teams I worry about the foul trouble.
