LOUISVILLE VS (22) MARYLAND GAME THREAD- 7PM ESPN2

same problems. Ellis is barely defending his man. he is 5 feet away the guy he is guarding.

Withers making careless passes. team can't inbound the ball.

The guys are trying. They're competing. They just have no room for error at every aspect of the game. Things are going so bad when they play good defense they don't get the deflection. They force a bad shot but can't get the long rebounds.

These things add up in a players mind and the confidence is shattered as they return to bad habits. They just need to have a stretch where good things happen. They see the fruits of their labor.

Right now it's just a huge hump to get over. One of the biggest I've ever seen.

They have no clue how to play defense. It is amazing how they lose guys on every possession. They have no shot.

The YUM wasn’t full to start with but the ones that came half of them have gone home at the half.

You got to give some credit to Maryland. They're a good team. They have moved the ball very well to get the open shot. Even if Louisville was a normal team they could still be getting beat handily.

This is twilight zone stuff. You can’t both be so inept as a team that the offense runs nothing other than dribble til you wanna shoot, combined with a defense that has no intention, fundamentals or purpose. The result is 0-28.

It’s unthinkable that a Top 10 program all time, with world class facilities and budget (including coaches salaries) could put this product on the floor. Regardless of circumstances.

At this point there is nothing you can do. I think they have a legit shot at 1-2 wins. They are so bad on defense I think anyone can score on them. They are equally bad on offense.

Whew it is bad.

Fabio has to start. dude is diving for loose balls. and he is putting good pressure on the opponents guards. he can get to the bucket very easily.

the current defense is pointless because Ellis is standing several feet away from his defender on every play.

There is definitely a lot of explanations required on why these basketball players look like they never played the game before. These are young guys that have been playing competitive basketball since they were in elementary school. The coaching just isn't getting to them.

What in the world is wrong with Curry? Why is he even bothering to play? The basketball apparently is just too hard to hold onto. He looks like a guy who only plays the game because he's tall.

And Withers I'm done thinking he's going to reach the potential we all assumed he had. I don't see how he stays. KP better sign a bunch of guys for next season because I forsee another exodus from this roster.

I seriously don't see how this continues without incident. Players are going to bolt. Coaches are going to bolt or get fired. If this group doesn't start playing competitive basketball I'm afraid we're going to see something not seen in modern basketball memory. A season canceled because no one wants to continue to suffer the humiliation on the court.

The final nail in the quest by whoever or whatever, to seal the fate of the Louisville basketball program.

will anyone here renew season tix? No f’ing way I will. Can’t believe I’m actually driving downtown and sitting thru this tooth extraction. It’s incomprehensible.

Wasn’t Willard one of the coaches overlooked by the “fairytale“ UofL was sold on for the KPayne hiring?

I mentioned Willard because of his ties here and the success he had at Seton Hall. But most people here said he was just another Chris Mack.

KP still hasn't recruited a point guard or center for next year. he makes $3.35 million a year. take a salary cut and use it for NIL to get some players.

In years past, a blowout loss like this would have been stunning, mind boggling. Now it’s routine. Sad. I do agree with Realville, this season could collapse with players and coaches wanting no more to do with this disaster. It may come sooner than later.

As much as some may want it, they ain't gonna be cancelling the season. For sure could see a few transfer as soon as it's officially open season for that.

I don't want the season to be canceled, but if half the players leave what other option would there be? In the era of social media and with the lax transfer rules, there may be a real unprecedented thing happening here.

A major college basketball program having to forfeit the rest of the season for a lack of bodies. These players are not going to just hang around so not to embarrass the program and if they read the fans comments on the players, they may want to stick it to the program.

If this team continues to get blown out against every power conference team it plays, somethings going to happen.
