LOUISVILLE VS #12 TENNESSEE GAME THREAD- NOON ACCN

Everyone who watched the game saw the following:

1. UT’s tight man-to-man defense denied our passing lanes, and pressured the ball to a level we had no expectation.
2. UT’s superior athleticism and strength dominated the rebounding, even when we had position.
3. We missed the 3 point opportunities, largely a result of UT defense taking away any open looks, and our own lack of patience to get an open look.

CPK needs to work tirelessly on our half court offense period ….. it must figure out a way to find separation when faced with tight man-to-man defenses, as we will see it every game until we demonstrate that we can beat it.

I like Kelsey, and I think these kids will listen to Kelsey. Can they overcome the disparity in strength and athleticism? I have no idea.

...we have done a lot of talking, myself included, about being on the road to being "back"...
Nothing wrong with being optimistic and then admitting that maybe you were too optimistic. I've been there myself although I try not to let emotions rule my head.

Just the same, as raked over the coals as we have been in men's basketball, we shouldn't expect anyone else to be optimistic. My question has been and will continue to be "on what basis?" Not with our recent track record. Optimism should rightfully have left with Chris Mack...

At halftime, Montana is only down 9 to Tennessee in Knoxville.
Tennessee was up for that game Saturday and jumped on us from the get go. I think had we gotten off to the start they did and got the crowd energized the game would've went different. I think our crowd intimidated our guys more than it did Tennessee..

Some times a good kick in the teeth is just what a team needs to get focused. Hopefully that's the case with this team.. But like Zipp says, hope is not a great game plan..

We were tighter than an Amish bride on her Honeymoon..

The KP years has distorted Cards fans expectations either way. We beat a cupcake by 40 and we're like, "Hell yeah, we're back"! We couldn't beat anyone by 40 the last two seasons.

Then we get abused by a talented and experienced ranked team and some are like, " Here we go again, not competitive." More of the same from the last two seasons.

Neither is correct yet. We all know college basketball is a long season and even top 10 ranked teams have bad games that are very disappointing.

Cards fans are just impatient. We want so bad to know for sure we're indeed back to being a tournament team. I think we will see in the affirmative in the next several games.

Yes they were. Crawford made an excellent point about the crowd having an adverse effect on the team, everyone but Chucky having never played in front of a home crowd like that before. Hell,I thought Chucky was tight.
Not looking to make excuses. They'll get another crack at it and THEY will have show what they can do.

Montana lost by 35 and shot 36 percent from the field.

UT's defense is legit. Not sold on their offense quite yet.
Tennessee is a legit team top to bottom. They have a good established coach. I wish we hadn't lost by 20, a close game would've been easier to swallow. We've got a couple easy games to work on things before jumping back in the frying pan.

A loss is a loss but hopefully we have learned more from the a** kicking than we would from a closer game. I would rather the games to be competitive and not easy.

There is nothing wrong with losing to a really good team. It works both ways youare never as good as your best night and never as bad as your worst night. It is also normal considering how bad Louisville has been for fans, including me to over react.

We will see my main concern is this team athletic enough to run his stuff against better team. Test 1 they couldn’t which means they have to all the little things screens, block outs and hard cuts correctly.
