The girls took out regular season conference champs UCF 3-2 to bring home the tournament hardware!!!! I do believe that's 11 straight NCAA tournament appearances for CSP and her softball program

This is only the 15th season for UofL softball. In 15 seasons they have made the post season 11 times. 4 years after starting a program from scratch CSP had her team in the post season and hasn't missed one since while hosting 4 times.....that is the most overlooked/underappreciated coaching job at UofL without a doubt

They have turned in a good season. They started our pretty shaky but have gotten back into the fight. I think that big time pitcher is that is missing at this stage. They hit the ball really well, show good defense and speed. I hope they can win a couple in the tourney. Big win today!

Early in the year, I felt like this was a pretty average team but they have really improved.
I agree with other poster that we need a dominant pitcher to move to the next level.

Question for experts-Can Becker, freshman pitcher and first basement, be that type of pitcher?
I've been impressed with her and several other new additions to the team this year.

I don't want to comment on Becker because Im not educated enough on the sport to recognize early talent. The one thing that we have battled is we were recruiting to a non P12/SEC conference. While the ACC is not as strong in softball as those 2 conferences its still better than CUSA/BE/AAC. If CSP achieved what she has in those conferences, finding a dominate pitcher in the ACC should be a reality. I look for our softball team to compete for a NC/CWS before our baseball team in the ACC. We will start seeing west coast talent migrating this way IMO.

Tough draw. With decent pitching - going against Arizona (potentially) who has the best hitting in the country. Well, the odds are not in our ladies' favor. They mentioned during the selection show - great pitching beats out great hitting. The ladies hit fairly well but v. top-notch pitching who knows. I am nervous if UL gets to Arizona the Wildcats may brutalize out pitching.
