Louisville round # 2 vs NCAA

The fight is far from over depending on what the FBI reports say about Louisville personnel involvement, will have a much greater impact than losing some past games. If Louisville is at all associated with Bowen recruiting such as speaking with him, his family or the shoe company the consequences could be severe. The fact that Rick might not be initially involved does not extract Louisville from responsibilities if any of its employees were in the “dealing” When did he know and then what specific action did he take to address the situation other than banding form practice

If Pinto was totally ignorant of the initial dealings and found out only when the kid walked into his office or assistant t coach called this does not reduce Louisville culpability The NCAA is after the school not individual coached who may be involved.

So, any documented contacts communication by any Louisville personnel seals the case for the NCAA. The degree of contact only may reduce the severity of the penalty. The only positive thing is Bowen never played a game for Louisville which would mean a repeat violation of using an ineligible player and getting a benefit from his participating.

Remember Louisville would be “convicted violated” on a prior charge and the NCAA rules clearly allow stronger than normal penalties. Rick passing a lie test, not being on telephone conversation mitigate damages.

The NCAA could band Louisville from post season play offs, (including ACC tournament) for number of years. Probably only one.

Reduce scholarship for serval years

Restrict travel of assistant coached

Band Louisville from TV which would really be expensive with new ESPN contract coming up. No more than a year

I hope Louisville can defend its action to avoid more penates that will have impact for next several ye

Not happening man. This FBI thing is going to take years and years and many many schools will be involved. Either the whole ship goes down and we all go down with it or nothing comes of it. I think it's so big that so many schools get involved that it easentially becomes a wash (equal playing field ) or college basketball as we know it is gone. Louisville will be no more at a disadvantage of anyone because of the FBI stuff,.mark it down.

No school will know anything until the NCAA announces investigations.
Much of the information the FBI has gathered or is gathering will not be released to the general public. It can be released to the NCAA to do their own investigations.

The FBI is not in the business of policing college athletics. It will be the decision of the NCAA if they want to pursue information given on between four and fifty member schools. Not the call of the FBI what to do with those member schools.

Are you a lawyer or been advised by one? If neither, I'm not too sure you're qualified to say what will or won't happen.

If the Feds prosecute, everything can potentially be publicized in court. I'm not sure the FBI can't release the evidence on its own and without prosecution. A judge would probably have to rule on that.

And the FBI doesn't have to cooperate with the NCAA in any respect. My hunch is if the federal case unravels, the FBI will be doing whatever it can to save face incl. bringing down schools, coaches, AND the NCAA in or out of court...

I'm pretty sure they don't ban TV appearances anymore as that penalizes non offending schools as well.
