Louisville is Huge Las Vegas Favorite over NC State....

I guess they figure most gamblers will expect NC State to have a huge letdown after coming so close against Clemson and the Cards will come out with a chip on their shoulders after Duke.
I don't gamble but something tells me the Cards cover. I don't expect NC State to eat up the clock like Duke did. That isn't their game. That means the Cards will have more opportunities to score than they did Friday night. Assuming UofL doesn't turn the ball over two or more times and finishes drives they should at least get into the upper 30s or more in points scored. I also think the Cards defense can hold the Pack to less than 20 points assuming they don't get a bunch of short field opportunities.
Cards 42, Pack 17.

Oh crap! Not again. Jeeze I wish those guys would lighten up.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

Thought it would be Cards -15 so it is a bit high but LJ and the FSU game are still in play as far as the expected action in Vegas, not to mention the 2nd half comeback at Clemson.

Wow that line is massive. NC State is a legitimately tough football team. That wasn't a fluke yesterday. If we play sloppy we will probably not win.

I think the line is high also NC St looked pretty good to me. I would think coming off a loss they would play harder against us, I hope I'm wrong.

Maybe the best defense we face all year. That line will get bet down big time.

I was very impressed with the Wolfpack's defense against Clemson. Per NCAA's stats, they are currently ranked 16th in total defense. It will be a challenge. Plus, the Cards stormed out of the gate without people knowing what to expect. Coaches now have a good idea, know what to do. Duke's game plan was pretty good. Control the ball and clock, keep it close, and let's see what happens.

On the topic of defensive rankings, as good as NCST is in that regard, looking at future opponents, Houston is currently ranked 10th in total defense, and BC is currently ranked 4th. That's pretty crazy since they gave up 56 to Clemson recently, and 49 to Va. Tech. Louisville, fwiw, is currently ranked 11th.

Moving on. I like how the program, the university, etc. is not making a big deal about the program's 500th team win on Saturday. While an impressive milestone (all things considered,) it's a dubious one at that, considering the number of teams who have a lot more wins than we do. Win #500 is probably ancient history for a lot of teams. My god, this program has come a long way fast.

Indeed...UK has close to 600 total wins...and with they're current history, that means they passed 500 sometime in the early 1980's.

Back to this spread, I don't get it...I'd like to think we rebound a little and play more consistent offence, but a double digit win will make me very happy.

NC State played a better defensive game against Clemson than we did. I expect them to run Dayhes(sp?) at least 25 times, similar to the way Duke did. If we don't stop it, we're in trouble.
This game will be decided by less than 9 points. The Vegas line is BS!

I only saw the last quarter or so of the NC St - Clemson game. Does NCST have ANY passing game? They seemed to do nothing but run (which they did well, btw). But are they that one-dimensional?

Louisville seemed very conservative against Duke. Could it have been the rain? Or maybe Jackson was under so much pressure there was little time to look downfield. We were lucky last Friday. I tend to think the players were looking past Duke (though I don't expect any of them would say so).

Better be ready this week.

Gonna be tough for NCST to be as fired up as they were for Clemson.

A loss like that, to a highly ranked "traditional" conference power, takes an emotional toll.

I think we cover.

I realize it's not the same teams but let's not forget that we (me included) thought TB and the Cards were going to manhandled a middle of the pack (no pun intended) ACC team in the 2011 Belk Bowl. We outrushed, out passed them and still loss.

That was a "home" game (Charlotte) for NCST as evidenced by some of the calls.

We were the new kid on the block and got hosed.

That's a good point. That was a big emotional loss for NC State. If you're a bettor you pound Louisville because of that.
